It would be pretty difficult to make an argument in favour of Sturm to win a head to head fight also.

Well thats a differ of opinion. I notice that Hopkins has a style weakness to fast 2 handed fighters his own size.
People are jumping and bumping this old thread now, as Sturm didnt look good against Macklin, but would they be doing so if it was at the time Hopkins lost lamely to Jones and got put down twice only scraping a draw with Mercado?
Fighters can have bad nights, remember how Hopkins fell out of the ring against Allen and had trouble against Echoles, yet Macklin is a more accomplished fighter than those 2. So it happens. I doubt Sturm would be as stationary against a big MW like Hopkins

Prime for Prime Hopkins destroys Sturm

Im not talking about the Mercado 1 Hopkins, or the "fell out of the ring" Hopkins

Im talking about the man that fought Trinidad here. Lets just use that as an example. That Hopkins in 2001 will have the handspeed, power, and sheer SKILL to dominate Sturm in all areas. Theres no argument here either
