Where does David Haye rank in Wladimir Klitschkos list of opponents? Is he the best?

i thought mormeck was dead a the wieght but it was still a great win for Haye and Enzo had Hair gel in his eyes i thought the Fragomeni win was his best win(at cruiseright) if thats the one where he was cut

Apart from Peter 1 and 2, Byrd 1 and 2, Chagaev, Chambers, Rahman, Ibragimov, Thompson, Brewster, Brock, McCline, Mercer, Botha, Shufford, Barrett and Schulz. Mormeck loses all of the above, apart from those, there is another few that would be 50/50 toss ups for Mormeck. Enzo basically losses to all of Wlad's last 30 opponents. There is a good reason why that 6'4 clown who is in his peak years is now hiding amongst the toddlers at light heavyweight.

It's still hard to say, the Valuev fight was a freak of a fight, a close one too. Barrett and Ruiz were cooked, then there's Audley.

I think the fight on Saturday will go a fair way to telling us how good Haye is at HW. It's hard to truly say how good he is at HW based on just the few fights he's had there so far.

 

It's the durability in this fight that's the key. Wlad is said to have a weak chin, but he got up after big blows from Corrie Sanders. Haye hasn't been hit by a big puncher at heavyweight yet. Haye goes down a little too much for me and I think he may be really poor around the chin. I can see WK catching Haye, maybe sooner rather than later, Haye could run and get tired, but only a glancing heavy shot will be enough to stun Haye. Wlad can jab, keep it at distance and win. I think Haye will move around, potshot and hope to land something big on the counter. The only problem is that jab. Once kicked in the face with that a few times, I think Haye may have enough. Alternatively he could go at it like Sanders, but he doesn't have the physical bulk or straight hand punch speed \ power Sanders had in that fight.

I think it's down to who can land first. Haye can move, but I think WK has the skill, size and athletism to get at Haye.

Maybe Wlad will be sacrificed so that a MEGAFIGHT with Vitali can be set up. This makes really big sense for the Klitschko's....and for Haye. Both fought Sanders. Money talks.

 

Haye is a nobody with 0 good wins. Only a non boxing fan would think he is top 10 let alone top 5 on Wlads best win list.

 

I sort of agree, with Haye saturday will answer a lot of questions.

If Wlad beats him in an epic battle then it will go along way to defining Haye, if he gives wlad a hell of a fight then that will probably be better than his whole heavyweight career to date.

However, if Haye gets annihilated then he will probably not be high on the list and just go down as a cruiserweight pretender.

If Haye wins then thats a different story, he makes a name for himself and has a date wioth destiny with elder brother.

Its also hard to call as he said he is retiring in October, if true he isnt going to achieve much in that short space of time so his heavyweight resume is pretty much set (this is if he losses)

People on this board talk a lot about "when Haye lands on Wlad's weak chin", but gloss over the reverse.

I really hope and suspect Wladimir and his immediate team have more pride than to throw this fight to set up more money with a Haye-Vitali fight. But it has crossed my mind.

 

So, when Wlad destroys him you're going to recognize Wlad as a truly great fighter ?

 

Haye is the mosy dangerous fighter but not the best if that makes any sense!

He's got to be near the top of the list. People underrate Sultan Ibragimov and Ruslan Chagaev who were quality boxers due to the way they lost to Wlad and that neither did anything to redeem themselves afterwards, but they were good fighters. Haye looks like a worse fighter on paper than he actually is, his heavyweight resume is terrible and his cruiserweight run is overrated, unified champion yes but he took a minimalist approach to getting there, but if you've seen the fights and the way he dealt with those guys you know he's got alot of talent and has speed and power than Ibragimov and Chagaev didn't have which may not even the odds but shorten them at least. I still think he'll lose but he has more chance than I've given anyone against Wlad for years.

 

Chris Byrd was his best win.

Haye in all fairness could be number 2, although I could see someone saying Chag or Sultan.
