Bull****. Yes, there will be assholes who go all out in sparring against inferior opponents now and then, but sucker punching and giving everything to finish the guy in a sparring session is completely classless. Not to mention that it defeats the purpose of sparring in the first place - prospects get 20+ cans to practice their finishing skills on in real boxing matches anyway. Off to watch Kirkland vs Ishida now, brb.
Every time I have a super bad day I go to YouTube and I'd watch Ishida abusing Kirkland and everything's fine.... Kirkland is a ****ing piece of **** :hat
These are pros guys. Being alittle too rough on Kirkland. And then that wild style seek and destroy dont help either. If they were amatuers or kids then Id say it went too long. They used to getting and giving beatings. James has that killer instinct, but lacks alot of control and balance. Credit to Anne for jumping in because nobody else did.
No. This is also for hussleman... if you think this is the way sparring is supposed to go, then I doubt you've been in an MMA or boxing gym. This is low class, cheap shot ****, and Wolfe is to blame as much or more than Kirkland. You are TRAINING. You are NOT supposed to hurt your opponent more than necessary, you're there to LEARN. Hurting people is for the real thing. When you stagger someone in sparring, you stop punching and let him clear his head or you throw pitty pat punches until he's good to go. When you catch someone grappling, you don't break his ****ing arm or choke him unconscious, you let him tap. This goes beyond gym wars, it's like a setup. Whoever's supposed to be looking out for that kid let him down, he could get ruined taking beatings like that in the gym before he ever steps in the ring. It doesn't do you one bit of goddam good to hurt your training partner. Your PARTNER. Nobody will want to go with you if you get known for it, except for people who want to hurt YOU.
no she doesn't, because she'll find some, and it won't help him AT ALL. Everyone involved in boxing knows that the worse a beating you take in sparring, the worse you're going to fight.
That way of sparring is ****, it's the main reason why Kirkland doesn't know what to do if the other guy fights back, he is training to kill living heavy bags atsch
Wolf doesn't care about "teaching him anything" she wants him to be mentally and physically tough, so finding someone who wants to hurt him and watching him adapt most likely fits what what she wants.
You are probably right. She looks like the typical "yeah go james kill him, no defense, stick your chin out!"
I thought the purpose of sparring was to learn new techniques and try them out to see if they work and get sharp.. Seems like he just wants to kill the guy. And wtf was Wolf doing, whipping him? Sounds like a ****ed up team, to me.
If Anne Wolf was smart she would realize her specialty is in conditioning (old school methods) and building mental toughness, she needs to bring a real trainer into her gym to build these kids up the right way.
I dont agree with the way Wolfe is training him, but you know well there a many ring wars that happen and are common. Ive trained in Philly and Mexico when youve covered the controlled sparring portion of your training you learn your basics then you move on to your heavy espareo or sparring. Its obvious to me Wolfe is failing him in the controlled sparring because of Kirklands lack of skills. If it was Maidana giving the ass whuppin he wouldnt be getting such a bad rap and I dont even like Kirkland. I think its just the guys style and Casarez knew what was coming. No fighter fights the same.
