Which fight was a better legendary performance for Hopkins, Trinidad or Pavlik?

    The Trinidad win, you said performance, Hopkins performed better in that 1. The Pavlik win is a great past prime win, but it wasn't at the same level as what he did to Tito

    Yea but Pavlik was the undisputed middleweight champion when Hopkins dominated him at 43yrs. of age and he was also undfeated like Trinidad. You'd have to say the Pavlik fight because he wasn't at his best anymore and he won like that.

    If your talking about 'performance' it doesn't matter if he wasn't at his best anymore, he still didn't perform as well, and Pavlik isn't any better than Trinidad because he's 'undisputed MW champ', Tito was better.

    If you compare overall accomplishments, than your right but Pavlik was more of a natural middleweight than Tito. He also beat Jermaine Taylor twice, who even though I think Hopkins beat, Hopkins dropped 2 decisions to him. So when you look at it that way, it looks more impressive.

    I know its been close to 10 years but you remember how regarded Tito was considering the string of impressive victories post De la Hoya he was considered the Man.

    Tito was not only favored but this fight was more about Hopkins being stepping stone to a Trinidad vs. Jones showdown than it being a seriously legendary middleweight fight that it really was.

    Tito had much bigger wave of enthusiasm and momentum going into the Hopkins fight.


    The Pavlik win was pretty impressive also but the Tito win edges it.

    Trinidad fight gave Hopkins that exposure that he deserved and he delivered.

    Both great wins by Hopkins. Trinidad was one of his finest performance, followed by Pavlik. However, th Glen Johnson fight showed us one of his most complete performances in the ring IMO.

    Yea, I'd agree with this. This was Hopkins at his abosolute best.

    Trinidad is the legend, so the legendary performance has to be Tito.

    For me its Pavlik. He was facing a guy who was maybe a bit physically bigger and stronger than him but also one dimensional. I never felt Trinidad had any kind of chance against Hopkins, he was too small, and I knew he would be somewhat ordinary once his power was nullified. Tito was a big strong one dimensional welterweight. He was just a one dimensional middleweight, so he lost a lot of his advantages he had over welterweights.

    Hopkins performance against Joppy. Joppy is a big step below Hopkins. Your talking about matching up a great welterweight against a great middleweight. Trinidad could beat guys like Cherifi and Joppy, but that was big difference from facing Hopkins.
