I'm not even that big a Haye fan to be honest.

But it's just delusional for fans to think that it's a formality for Wlad. It's not a big fight, causing so many articles, and debates, as Wlad is going to win in 2 rounds............

Talk is cheap, as they say.

    Let's look at it factually.

    Wlad

Ever since Wlad hooked up with HOF trainer Manny Steward, he's been focused on fighting the exact same way.

1: Use the jab, often, to keep the opponent at arms length

2: Minimize the number of power shots thrown. Enough to discourage rivals from being too aggressive, but also to avoid being hit yourself.

Wlad only throws, on average, 50 shots a round. 70% of these are jabs. But his connect rates are actually terrible, using the new tactic.

His last 3 fights, he's landed under 30% of the shots he's thrown.

Wlad dominates as he doesn't get hit very much himself. He uses the jab, and occasional big right, to make himself hard to hit. They don't actually land as much as you think.

    Haye

Haye's doesn't throw as many shots as Wlad. He averages about 25-30 per round. Against Valuev it was only 15.

However, his accuracy is his weapon.

Haye lands 60% of his jabs (3x as accurate as Wlad) and 48% of his power shots (twice as accurate as Wlad)

What's more, Haye is very slick at any weight. He's NEVER been hit by more than 7 jabs in a round.

What does this say? It means, he doesn't stand still, and is not easy to hit with predictable attacks. He's always moving. He doesn't come at you straight on. He works angles. Looking for the bomb.

    Keys to the fight

I hope these stats show, unless a different Wlad shows up, it's probably all on the jab. Wlad only throws 30-50 shots a fight, that aren't jabs.

Wlad needs to have an effective jab, to not only control the fight, but keep himself from being hit.

However, as you see, Haye is one of the best fighters on the planet at working out the jab. As I said, he's never taken more than 90 jabs in a fight. And has never taken more than 7 in a round.

Of course, he's never faced anyone who can jab like Wlad.

On the flip side, Haye, is probably the most athletically gifted heavyweight since Tyson. I'm not comparing him to Iron Mike, but this isn't a 6'5, 260 pound, athlete. This isn't a static target. This is a guy who's shown throughout his career, that he's not there to be hit with straight, predictable shots.

    Predictions

I give Wlad the following advantages:

1: He's fighting in Germany, with a referee of his choosing.

2: Height, weight, discipline and reach.

3: Championship ability. He's been there and done it for years.

I give Haye the following advantages

1: Youth, speed, mobility and athleticism (remember, he's nearly 6 years younger)

    2: Ambition/Aggression

    3: Accuracy and slickness

If both fighters fight to their recent heavyweight styles and form, Wlad should win.

However, Wlad's recent heavyweight form, has, in truth, a lot to do with the threat of his opponents. As in the general quality, and lack of ability.

If Haye is able to move, and hit, and negate the jab as he has in his career, and work the big shots, from angles, of course he can win.

He has a chance. HW boxing is full of upsets.

I have my mental picture, which is a Wlad win, but I don't stop the idea of Haye getting a KO from creeping in every once in a while.

as much as i think you are overestimating hayes ability (shockingly by the way).i have to point out that i was worried about the fact that sam peters and eddie chambers folded in 2 rounds after feeling the power plus wlad being out of the ring so long i did consider that haye might beat wlad due to this having to deal with a live wire (which haye is regardless of the idiots say) i have to point out to you that indeed that is true his last 2 fights where against men who folded all to quick but you have to understand harrison was there for money and nothing else and so was ruiz if you think they where there to fight your very ****ing gulable so your last point dosnt really make much sence because of that very reason...as youve pointed out yourself wlad wins this if he sticks to what he knows and thats not just jab jab grab by the way.but personally the only way i see haye winning is if he rushes wlad and he shites himself which he has done before or he lands a lucky shot....i cannot see how a man who was outboxed by mormeck (near shot) and a man who has struggled with any1 who could box a little can be dubbed with all the praise he has been getting.i mean he even looked flawed against ruiz and ruiz was shockingly bad..anyway i hope both of them have a great fight and that most importantly boxing is the winner...ino who im picking

    You are wrong.

Wlad wins if he is ABLE to do what he usually does. Fight his usual fights.

Wlad's connection rates have actually plummeted in the last 3 fights.

And are even worse against the slicker fighters he has faced.

He doesn't land huge amounts of shots. He just doesn't take them either.

Wlad doesn't automatically fight his usual fight. As Haye's shown throughout his career, that he's not a usual heavyweight.

He's very slick, and very good at negating the big jabs

Wlad is not a slick boxer!!! Please dont make me laugh that is some stupid ****! He has zero head movement! His foot work is shocking! He uses his Jab to keep him safe and use to find the range for the right! The minute Haye slips that jab for the first time and land the right watch Wlad try to box on the back foot! The problem with Wlad is the level of rubbish he is fighting! He has never fought anyone like Haye and to say Haye has no chance is complete rubbish! Wlad bring very little to this fight.

    1. Jab
    2. Power (on par with Haye as qouted by Barrett some some fan boy)
    3. Hight
    4. Stamina (which if he is getting beat drops big time)

Audley Harrison made a good point the other day! When your 6 foot 7 you put your heart under alot of strain as it the same size as your average man but working alot harder! Because of this you find big guys like Audley and Wlad etc jab alot to set up the right! When they have been forced to fight hard there stamina drops BIG time as Wlad has previously shown.

When Haye lands like he does against every one he fights and the sheer volume of punches Wlad will fold or try cover up! Wlad has rarely had to fight out of the corner some thing Haye is going to make him do.

One thing for sure is this fight will end in a KO but i cant see how Haye can loose this! Ill stick with my prediction and say 8th round TKO for Haye. I think haye will at some stage get Wlad on the back foot and the ref will stop the fight.

    Stocks,
I agree that Heye does have a chance.
As for his ability to avoid jabs. Did you take it from moments when old slow Ruis was hitting him easily with his slow jab? Or when shot Monte Barret dropped him with a jab?

Ruiz fires the jab Wlad dont. Im not saying Wlad's jab is **** because that would just be stupid but Wlad knows how dangerous Haye is and he wont be jabbing he will just use it to keep the range so just holding his left out there with the hope and Haye comes into range he will then fire the right then grab. Problem with that Haye's got way to much body movement. Dont be supprised if Wlad goes to grab and Haye moves leaving Wlad stumbling all over the place. What people dont realise with Haye is he has had a different style for every single fight he has been in. How can Wlad train for 6 different Haye's? Not being funny he is not that good! Its easy to find tall sparing partners that and range with the jab but its not easy to find a David Haye.

    Stocks,
I'm sorry to say but that just wishful thinking, mate.
"Ruis fires the jab Wlad don't", "he wont be jabbing"

    Is that so?

I believe that's a huge myth. He boxes much like he did in the amateur days. Of course there's slight changes in the underlying strategy for each opponent but overall his style has been absolutely consistent and identical over the last 10 years.

Not sure where this "Haye boxes different all the time" myth is coming from at all. I mean the entire idea is so ridiculous and yet it has gone viral and I see it repeated dozens of times.

Wlad knows is chin is poor so adopted the Jab to then drop it all to fight a guy his trainer has said reminds him of Mike tyson And suger ray and possible one of the hardest punchers in the division! Wlad loose the jab not a chance on the planet that will happen!!!! And if Wlad was stupid enough to do that it would be over in 3.
