Floyd fought Carlos Baldomir, who Clottey was easily beating in Baldo's before one of the worst ripoffs in boxing history took place in the 11th. Fought Ricky Hatton, who was a light-welter with one previous fight at welter, where he looked like shite. ODLH - who was aging and slowing JMM - who was two weight classes lower, and three or four (who knows for sure) by fight night because of Mayweather's unethical sportsmanship. and Shane Mosley, who was 139 years old. So yes, Clottey's name goes on the laundry list of guys Floyd ducked for the last 10 years.
I can't say Floyd ducked Clottey but I believe he did duck Cotto, Margarito and Williams. What I can say is Floyd never showed any interest to fight him. A lot of people s*&t on Clottey now but before the Pacquiao fight he was seen as a viable opponent for anyone. He could've been Floyd's comeback opponent instead of Marquez. But Clottey never shown an interest to fight Floyd neither.
