What KO punchers hit JUST AS HARD after a knockdown?

Benn was like a wounded tiger when his opponent hurt him, probably as much as anyone I've seen in my lifetime. Trouble was that it often took him getting hurt or outright beaten up for the danger level to spike at it's highest and drive him on to return with even more fury. Just been watching the Logan fight again, brutal stuff.

 

I suspect many of us are looking for quick, almost immediate turnarounds, like what SRR did to Graziano. It took Marciano more time to reverse what Walcott and Moore did to him. Not saying he doesn't belong on this thread, and your naming of him is entirely appropriate (especially as you're the thread starter), but I think there's something more of an "instant gratification" mentality afoot here.

Patterson was knocked down twice and senseless by Ingo in the opening round of their rubber match, then decked Johansson out of nowhere just before the bell ending the stanza.

 

Evander Holyfield didnt like to get knocked down. He got up and hit harder.

 

He and Bert Cooper were fun.

 

Johnson was decked by Ketchel in round 12 back in 1909 out in Colma, CA. and rose to park Ketchel like a Ford pick-up truck in a split second or two....

NOTE:

Also, Lawrence Holmes was decked hardcore by Mr. Snipes in round 7 back in 1981, but Holmes got up to shake off the cobwebs and take control again by the rds end....

And if it is a one off fight you are looking for (rather than just a career performance) then surely Jack Johnson against Stanley Ketchell is the king.

 

Danny seemed to get insulted if you didn't at least deck him one time early in a bout. My goodness what an exciting fighter he was..one of my ATG favorites.

Same with me. His fight with Olivares is my personal favorite of his. If you don't find Danny Lopez fights entertaining to watch, something is wrong with you.

 

I thought briefly about it.

After the first near knockdown in the opening seconds, Luis came up from a fifth KD to deck Jack for the briefest of flash knockdowns (which could have been waved off as a slip depending on the referee), then, after sustaining his final KD of the round, shoved him out of the ring with a stiff arm when the middle rope clipped the back of Jack's knees. (Turnabout's fair play there, where I'm concerned. Dempsey got shoved out of the ring, then back inside it. Karma evened out.) But after the Mauler got back in the ring, he was exchanging shots with Firpo pretty sharply before the bell rang. (Jack was actually pressing the attack as the bell rang.)

 

Right:good...you have no pulse if you don't like Lopez!

 

Man, I love Dempsey-Firpo. I might just have to watch that again.
