Rehydration/Fight night weight = barely relevant (if at all). Read any number of pejevan's quotes on the subject. It's all to do with electrolytes.

    So, you screwed up again.

    Nope. :nono

A fighter who rehydrates to 178 after weighing in at 160 is a huge guy for that weight class.

This is simple arithmetic (although it requires a modicum of boxing knowledge as well) - it seems you are incapable of either, Professor Electrolytes. :deal

Nope, it could simply mean they had to lose too much weight because they were too overweight before they went to camp. In itself it means nowt. They could also simply have too much muscle mass, which requiers more water. Muscle mass does not equate to size.

To put you out of your misery, the only thing that truly matters is natural body frame. That's it, nothing else matters in terms of "size".

    Nope :nono

If a guy walks around at 165, then he isn't going to rehydrate to 180, is he?

He will only rehydrate to around 165.

But if a guy rehydrates to 180, he must walk around at least 180.

Yet again, you have been foiled by very simple arithmetic and logic :patsch

Calzaghe fought only bums and old men too.

If you don't realise that genetics play as much a part to play as anything else in regards to this, you cannot be helped.

But ignoring that, do you consider Hatton a big light-welterweight?

I don't have all day to go tit-for-tat with someone like you. Once you have refuted my last point, we can bring up another point. Until then, we have nothing more to say:

And Hopkins started his career at 175 -- what's you're point?

Hopkins had fought at 168+ before the Calzaghe fight.

Calzaghe fought at 175 for the first time vs. BHOP.

    175 is greater than 168.

If you believe that the Calzaghe that fought Hopkins was anywhere near prime...:patsch...it's time to say goodbye.

Please define natural body frame. You have already discounted judging it based upon muscle mass, as you said muscle mass does not equate to size, it's not down to extra body fat as you pointed out that going into a training camp overweight can be discounted and it's not based on a persons basic skeletal frame which defines height and reach. How exactly does one define a persons natural body weight when all these factors have been discounted?

Do you not know that when Hopkins weighed in as a LHW in his first pro fight, he came straight of the pen.
Most guys who come out of prison arent exactly in shape to be a boxer. If Khan were to be in prison today, in 2 years he would probably come out at 200+ pounds (slight exxageration)

But the point is that the argument that Hopkins is a natural LHW is flawed

I wasn't really trying to argue that, but Hopkins himself and/or (can't remember) his trainer have said just that. He took such good care of himself; his vegetarianism etc. all played a role in getting him down and staying down at 160.
