Theres Trash talking, and then theres Trash talking.Haye has overstepped the mark with some comments, much the same as fatboy did shortly before being schooled and KO'd by Floyd.
As has been pointed out by other posters, people get killed and handicapped in this sport, making light of those facts, and using it to generate Dollars is plain wrong.
I admire Hayes boxing ability, and also the fact that he's stepping in the ring with Wlad, and if he pulls off the upset i'll give him his dues, but as a person he's a *****.

with respect, i think his years of dedication/sacrifice are more respect for the sport than anyone here has. he is a boxer but also a businessman, hes selling a fight and doing a damn good job at it. no different than mike tyson or many others. the original poster has an excellent point, after all of his talk at least he is fighting his biggest challenge and giving the fans what they want. thats a lot of respect for the sport if you ask me. I assure u when the fight is over they will shake hands and claim it was all to sell a fight.

Trash talk or not, it's his job to get his payday as big as he possibly can, the way he's doing it is not everyone's cup of tea (not mine) but it drums up interest, adds a few % to the PPV and subsequently lines the pockets of those providing the entertainment.

Haye's done 'everything' in promoting this fight to the masses, had he not done what he has, it would be a nothing fight, just like the rest of them, simply a sold out arena in Germany, and not a lot else.

Those that follow boxing know full well that Haye is not a normal day to day trash talker, it's just all an act/wind up of his opponent, an articulate and intelligent man, who clearly doesn't like what Haye says.

Haye has respect from me if he performs well, even if he loses, but gives a good account of himself, that's good by me.

I would have to agree with WK on this one. I respect Haye as a fighter but not as a person.

I respect Haye, and I think he will make an easy night of Wlad.

    Haye by KO - early.

All this "this is boxing, not knitting/tickling contest/pillow fight/massage contest" **** is getting old.

It's one thing saying you're going to KO the guy, it's another to say "it's going to be a gang ****" or "you're going to see him get executed".

As you said, people get hurt. He shouldn't be making light of that.
