    Both Fighters Offer Different Challenges.

Who do you think would be a tougher fight for floyd?

    Serious thread?

Manny Pacquiao of course. Ortiz is tune-up material for Mayweather.

Obviously Pacquiao. He's an all-time great fighter (as is Floyd) whereas Ortiz is, at best, a very good fighter. Ortiz is bigger than Pac but that's about it.

you could make an argument that ortiz size would maek the fight more difficult for mayweather and pacquiao's lack of defense is "tailor made" for mayweather. Just some boxing talk

Pac obviously, but Ortiz is a good fight. He showed some great strength and power against Berto that was definitely unexpected.

Hasn't Pacquiao already laid the size argument to rest

ortiz is more physically imposing IMO as the taller and heartier fighter. Ortiz fights big and physical. Pacquiao fights physical also but its more with speed and less with physical size

Ortiz doesn't have Pacquiao's speed though and his lack of a jab will make it very difficult to set up any offense against Floyd. He can't win in the middle of the ring, where Floyd will just counter him to death and I don't think he can cut off the ring well enough to push him into positions where he can land more than one shot at a time. Size alone isn't getting it done against Mayweather.

I don't think I'd pick Pac to beat Floyd but his speed, intelligent aggression, power and work-rate will give him problems he's never faced before.

Team Mayweather has already had plenty of time to scout Pacquiao over the years.
(I'm sure there is nothing new they don't already know about Manny's style)

Ortiz offers something different than Manny, e.g., Size, Youth & a style that is still unknown for the most part, IMO.

Manny is the smaller man giving Floyd the height/size advantage.
    Who know's for sure?

The biggest challenge Floyd has ever faced is him growing pair of balls.

Ortiz is willing to fight Mayweather, Pacquiao is unwilling to fight Mayweather this makes Oritz the bigger Challenge. If Pacquiao decides to be willing he would be the bigger Challenge by far.

Pacquiao has the same level of, if not more, physical talents, and many times the boxing skill & IQ. The only thing Ortiz has Manny doesn't is a size and a bit of height & reach.

I think Ortiz because he's bigger and younger, maybe not as fast as Pacquiao but I think he's a bigger challenge. If Floyd can get past Ortiz, then Pacquiao would be sort of a cake walk.
