Since his debut, Gamboa has never ever fought a fighter with a losing record and at just 20-0 he has defeated Jonathan Barros ( WBA Champ ), Orlando Salido ( WBO Champ ), Jorge Solis ( former World Champion ), and others like Marco Ramirez ( 25-0 at that time ). Gamboa has fought much better opposition and that can't be denied! Oh, and let's not forget those 300+ amateur bouts, the 3 World amateur Golds and the Gold medal in the Olympics! :good

We are Cubans but we disagree here. Mickey won't dominate anything as long as Gamboa is a featherweight. Did you ever see the Joel Casamayor - Roberto Garcia fight? Mickey's older brother now turned trainer Robert Garcia, was possibly better and stronger than Mickey. Casamayor picked him apart till he KO'd him late in a one sided affair. So, Gamboa in my opinion is faster, stronger, more athletic and more agressive than Casamayor and Mickey is not as good as Roberto was. The conclusion? A Gamboa schooling or beat down, take your choice. :good
Mi hermano, we cant jump into a conclusion comparing Robert Garcia vs Casamayor with Mike agaisnt gamboa. Those are 2 different stories.Mike is like 6 yrs younger than Gamboa.And time waits for nobody.Gamboa will go up in weight,will get older and will be beaten some day.As for now,no, Mike will be taking apart by Gamboa,but 4 yrs from now? we dont know. Robert Garcia nickname was grandpa no because he was that old but because he started very young and by his middle 20's had already a million fights.Mike hasnt been punished like his brother and his style includes a decent defense where he doesnt expose himself-as more mexicans-to hit me and i hit you back.:good
You seem to forget speed can be beat with timing. Thats Garcias main stregth along with accuracy in combinations. To say he has no chance is just a hugger statement or stupid. Im a fan and i know it can go either way but i see Garcias skills paying off big in the end.

Kid, mi amigo Cubano. You have some good points there. I thought you were talking about Mickey VS the present Gamboa but I see that we agree there. Now, 4 years from now I can agree with you that Gamboa will not be the same as now ( but who knows? ). Our Cuban fighters have over 300+ amateur fights before going pro so they tend to start going downhill in their mid 30's. So they don't last as long compared to American pros as Hopkins, Jones etc. Examples include Casamayor, ( his good years were until maybe 34 or 35 ), Hurtado, ( started losing his legacy around the same age as Casa ) and JC Gomez, ( was prime until his mid 30's as well ). Because of their long amateur careers our Cubans already have around 1200 to 1300 amateur rounds before their pro debut! So, I expect Gamboa and Rigondeaux to be past their prime after 35 years old but hey who knows right? There are always exceptions to the rule, and I really hope that Gamboa and Rigo, ( our two best boxers ) can stay prime until their late 30's! Un abrazo mi hermano. :good

Compadre, Gamboa is better than Casamayor any day of the week. At 20-0, Gamboa has accomplished so much more than Casamayor who at 20-0 had only fought C opponents. As a matter of fact, Gamboa has already defeated 3 World Champions in Salido, Barros and Solis and he unified the WBA and IBF while Casamayor failed to do that against Freitas ( even though he got robbed ). :twisted: And if/when Gamboa gets his hands on Johnny Gonzalez' WBC belt he will be a 3 time World Champion with just 20 pro fights! i'll agree here with GE, Casamayor-a master technichian and future HOF-didnt have the credits of Gamboa that early on his career.Even if a victim of bad decisions(freitas,castillo,corrales)coudnt capitalized with no doubts victories as Gamboa does.Leave alone the excitement of seen Gamboa fighting and the expectations of what's coming next. Unless Gamboa becomes distracted or neglecting his training, i see him being an unbeatable force for years to come.
For me Gamboa is one of the best fighters I've ever seen. I can't envisage anyone below 135 causing him any problems except maybe Donaire and Rigondeaux if they manage to move up to the same division in time.
