It´s the discussion that doesn´t seem to get old. It all depends what atmosphere means for you. To a certain extend I can understand both sides.

 

Atmosphere mean's noise, singing. You can feel the electricity in the air, it's a special feeling which you get at big football matches and you can get at boxing matches.

 

Special for your culture--obnoxious for others. Your preferred environment I find toxic more than intoxicating.

 

It depends on why do you go to boxing. Do you actually want to see boxing or just to get drunk with your mates. I tend to concentrate on the action and as I don´t drink alcohol my singing is quite limited.

 

are you telling me you cant sing and watch the boxing at the same time? its really not hard too do both. Sometimes i even breath between verses.

 

Why do people think that you have to be drunk to sing etc? I goto most of my teams football matches and sing my heart out and at home games I never drink. I imagine for those fans today it's like going to an away game, going into battle on enemy turf is what it feels like. You're not trying to fight you're just trying to outsinging the opposition and will on your team/boxer.

Where are you from? What is your culture? It's probably why most people will recognise us as the greatest fans in the world.

Amazing how so many Brits can't even comprehend the idea of wanting to 'concentrate on the action.' I drink and sing at concerts, not boxing matches where the serious observer is trying to catch every subtle detail of the fight. Does that register with you?

I'm from the US. You see, I find the concept of 'outsinging the opposition' absolutely ridiculous, but I realize it's part of your culture. Just like you don't want to be in an arena of fans like me you'd find boring, I'd rather not be surrounded by your ilk I find obnoxious. It's cool, we have an ocean between us, but try to understand the vast differences in sports fandom culture.

 

the english's songs are **** specifically, but theres nothing wrong with cheering loudly and getting vocally behind your fighter its just 'theres only one..' and all that shite is cringeworthy
