    vs

The Rampage who beat Liddell and Randleman in 2003

    Who'd win this fight? :bbb

(and is the winner the 4th best lhw ever after Wanderlei, Shogun and Chuck?)

I feel Couture but I THINK Rampage gets it. Randy has more than a chance though.

It's not that simple really Popkins. H2H doesnt necessarily reflect ATG rankings, I think Rampage is a bad stylistic match up for Randy. And Rampages resume is much deeper than Randy's at LHW anyway

Well aren't you just effectively saying yes, Rampage is 4th best anyway then? I mean, if it's not Rampage then who is it? Who else matches his body of work at 205 other than Wandy, Shogun and Chuck?

Dont know, personally I find it hard to rank active guys but Id put Rampage ahead of Randy in a h2h. His dirty boxing is better, and Randy aint exactly a beast in the clinch with the knees which is Pages weakness and Randy NEEDS to clinch to avoid the power shots and work to get a takedown

I'd say Randy based on the way Team Quest middleweights Dan Henderson and Matt Lindland ran Rampage to extremely close decisions during Quinton's prime. Both guys took Rampage down repeatedly, threatened him with submissions, used the clinch effectively, and have very similar styles to Randy being his former teammates. I see Randy taking a decision in a very close competitive fight. There's always a chance Page knocks Randy out but we've seen him have trouble finishing lesser opponents throughout his career so I wouldn't bet on it.

Here's a video of Page and Randy Sparring at Xtreme Couture from a couple years ago:

H2H I pick Rampage but like Stoo said, h2h can't be used when looking at whose greater. For example, I feel Chuck Liddell is a stylistic nightmare for Wandy but rank him ahead of Liddell.

Very good post, and I agree. I would have to side with Couture on this, and it's because I think he wins if he doesn't get ko'd. Let me give an example of what I mean by that.

I posted a while back that if Fedor could not exploit his superior speed against Silva, that he would get man handled. That meant Fedor only had one way to win. I picked Fedor to win that fight, so I'm not trying to claim a complete victory with that thought. Still, we saw what happened.

I think that against Couture, Rampage only has one way to win; his punching power. If Jackson can't land a bomb, he loses.
