How highly do you rate Marlon Starling's punch resistance?

I consider guys who weren't particularly hard to drop but who were difficult to hurt as having standard good/solid chins (eg Hamed, JM Marquez), guys who were difficult to even drop as having true iron chins (eg Toney, Hagler, Ali), and then guys who were regularly overmatched yet took horrendous punishment without wilting, ie the supernatural chins (which may not have been any better than the iron chins, but were more proven), eg Wayne McCullough.

Where would Marlon Starling fit in for you?

It's bad manners to answer a question with a question. Your momma should've taught you that when you were a little nipper.

Good defense, good chin. Got knocked out cold by a punch he never saw coming though against Molinares. Leads me to believe that while a durable fighter, was not among the most durable of all time but instead one of the best at defense.

Based on what? A high guard and basic upper body movement? He wasn't exactly Abraham or Clottey, but one of the best defensive fighters?

 fking idiot. that tight guard and upperbody movement rarely ever saw him get hit flush.

how the hell do you even bring up Abraham and Clottey:lol: these guys don't even know to roll with the punch or have any semblance of cuteness in their movements but you dare compare them to Starling :rofl are you ******ed or what?

Starling wasn't the second coming of Willie Pep, but he was a top defensive fighter of his era. A better comparison would be Winky Wright, and Starling was also adept at handling himself on the inside, which separates him from many users of the high guard and "basic" upperbody movement.

Since you have such clear problems in reading comprehension, let me bold, underline, single out and increase the size of a previous quote for you:

Mind you, there isn't a whole lot of difference between Starling and Clottey in terms of offense.

So that's just of his era,not actually on an all time basis, then? Winky's defense was pretty basic, too.I wouldn't rate him as particularly great in that department.

And do you not think that Clottey is adept at fighting on the inside?
