Size matters. That's why there's weight classes. Wlad is a lot bigger than Haye.

 

haha well if you listen to Vitalis interview yesterday he said Haye wont win because he isnt 'a real heavyweight'....so if its good enough for vitali.....

 

Obviously it's of extreme importance in the fight that Wlad has big advantages in weight, height and reach, that's just too obvious to even discuss at all.

However: who cares. Haye knows what size Wlad is, it's up to him to figure out a way of defeating him, and if he doesn't, it's because Wlad is the superior heavyweight. They are both heavyweights now, Haye holds a belt in the division and can weigh up to 222lbs while having very little body fat. He is a heavyweight, undoubtedly. I personally haven't seen anyone saying otherwise, think maybe the TS has fabricated this little issue in his own mind..

 

It is a matter of both. The tactics will not be effective enough to overcome the skill gap. David has to survive and get lucky with one punch or a freakish WK cut/injury while doing so. It is the "puncher's chance" and, for him tonight, it is around 10%.

Obviously, there are different categories of small and large for example. Take brain mass for instance. No doubt that the smallest HW champion in the history of boxing in the category has been Valuev.
