Where does Haye go from here?

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by The Chosen, Jul 2, 2011.

  1. Was there a rematch clause? Haye had the tools to beat Klitschko but for whatever reason he let his fans down. Haye talked like a real tough guy and all that ****...he stunned Klitschko at least once. Wlad has a weak chin still, chins don't improve. You have to get at it. Haye ****ed up and now he looks like a real *****. If Haye was slower and had less head movement he would be KO'd. Wlad should have took him out in rd 12 but he also let his fans down. Adamek will give us a fight when he goes after Vitali.
Haye is still a force but he can't beat Adamek who I think will beat Vitali.

There was no rematch clause, and neither would ever think about fighting him again, especially with the October bs.

I would feel so exhausted during the build up if there was a second fight. I think I'd just groan. I don't want to go through it all again.

In fairness, as gullible as the masses are, I don't think they could fall for Haye's bull**** again. He should just retire. He's accomplished everything he can legacy wise. He isn't beating either brother, after them, is there anyone really worth it? Haye has lots of money, it's all he ever wanted and now he has it. Happy retirement. Leave the boxing the hungry folk.

It should be rematched, it was fairly close in my opinion.

All the trash talk media rubbish needs to be cut though and the sooner the better.

Having said all that, Haye's supposed to be retiring.

I'd like to see Haye vs Vitali, but even now in Vitali's latter years, I think Haye will get stopped.

Does anyone have the energy for a rematch? I'm tired of it, man.

A rematch would be a blight on a sport -- better to stay under the radar than expose the sporting public to a debacle.

"Fairly close"? Like the Earth is "fairly close" to the moon? Like Poland came "fairly close" to stopping the Nazi invasion?

Haye talked trash but didn't have the minerals to try to back it up -- throwing 5-10 punches around, flopping around like a fish on a dock, whining about his toe, etc. Who would want to see that again?

If Haye is serious about putting the "my toe hurt" excuse over, he has to get back in the ring ASAP (let's give him the benefit of the doubt and say after his toe heals) against the top guys out there and work his way through the top contenders to earn another title shot -- so he can prove this one really was an injury-induced fluke.

Otherwise, just retire and go away.

Agreed. Unfortunately Haye has lost alot of respect and will probably be rememberd, even by the british fans in large part as just a talker.

The thing is, is that Haye showed in the last round that he could have beaten Klitschko. He can't go out like this, surely?

I don't think there is any point him fighting on, unless he gets an instant rematch which I think is highly unlikely

    haye-wlad II?
it took all these years to get the fight on with a 50/50 split, its fair to say the klits dont like haye very much so id expect it be even harder to make the fight in future when haye receives an offer of 5% of the purse from k2.

id expect haye to fight the cream of the domestic heavyweight scene at the den to cash in once again before he would accept a **** **** take of an offer from k2

not that i agree with it but i think its a more likely scenario.

It would be nice for haye to legitimize his HW career by fighting 1 or 2 genuine top ten contenders, and i dont mean over-the-hill guys like ruiz and barrett.

Failing that fight the winner of chisora-fury

He's done. In fact his antics before the fight and excuses after the fight have left a sour taste in many peoples mouths. I give him credit for surviving, that's all. Wlad controlled the fight from the start, winning fairly and comfortably. Without a belt, what's the point. He could fight for the "normal" WBA title, that's what normally happens right? Then go out on top or in a rematch with Wlad or perhaps fight Vitali.
