The future of the heavyweight division is now thoroughly bleak. Unless a miracle happens and Adamek beats Vitali, this is the only division I'll no longer watch. It's just terrible right now.

As for Wlad and where he goes from here, I hope people don't start to underrate him. He's a good fighter who knows how to use his strengths and avoid his weaknesses. He's not a great heavyweight, no, but he will dominate this era for a long time and I hope he can do boxing proud.

The division itself though is terrible. People can say that Haye used his big mouth to get such a big fight, but the fact is, the division needed Haye. People can laugh and hate on him now but he is responsible for bringing the interest and passion back to the division, even if it was just for one night. A Haye victory could have meant a lot of good things for boxing and it's a shame that it didn't happen.

Wlad will continue to be a good fighter and dominate the division. I just wish there were some guys who could realistically challenge him but there simply isn't. A good fighter is dominating a division of average, dull fighters. That's a shame.

Congratulations Wlad, commiserations Haye; but boxings true loser was boxing itself.

    Rubbish...

Haye was just trying to survive from round 3 onwards.. and a fast fast man trying to survive is very hard to nail.

Wlad fought a good fight.. and it would have been a great fight if Haye had also turned up.

    I totally agree.

Haye lost out obviously, but it isn't as if Wladimir gained anything particularly. He once again did his thing, jab, jab, jab and use his size to offset any potential attacks.

Wladimir was effective but dull, I would have preferred it if he had sparked Haye in 3 rounds, then at least the casual fans I had round wouldn't think boxing is an utter snoozefest afterwards.

2 years of build up, a long war of words, constant negotiations and so much pre-fight hype to help the fight cross-over to the general public's interest, and that is what we got.

I am the only person I know seriously trying to promote boxing to my friends, but with these failures of long-awaited fights it's going to get more and more difficult.

    Boxing defiantely lost last night.

The bar i was in was full of floating fans, prime for conversion but instead after 8 rounds all i was hearing was 'this is boring' 'this is ****' and the worst of all 'UFC is much better than boxing'

I enjoyed the fight for Wladimir. It wasn't exciting but I appreciated the little things.
Adamek won't beat Vitali. After that.... There's nobody there to even challenge the Klitschko's.

You need to go **** yourself with a power drill and maybe reality will sink in at some point.

The worst part about watching that fight wasn't the boring fight itself, it was watching that fight and knowing that there really is no heavyweight savior out there ....and that the entire division is doomed to mediocrity for years to come. :-(

Yes how dare he only lose 2 fights in his career, unify the crusierweight division, win a heavyweight world title and generally entertain the public for years. The sport of boxing can definatley do without people like that!

PS I take it by the lack of posts you have just joined the site to rubbish Haye and know **** all about his career or boxing in general?

David Haye attempted to become only the 2nd Brit in history to become the unified heavyweight champion of the world.Perhaps he could have put up a better performance but he didnt and he lost to the bigger and better man on the night end of.

    Boxing lost last night.

Haye was far better than any of Wladimir's recent challengers but still came up short.

Vitali is his brother and they'll never fight. So you have a very poor situation.

The #1 and #2 heavyweights will never fight. The #3 is not good enough.

Barring a miracle - Wladimir or Vitali losing or some unheard of elite fighter coming through the ranks - the division will be stinked out for another few years.

CHEF, congratulations buddy. Your man won, and you played a role in it.

For me, however, my allegiences lie with boxing itself. I was watching the fight with 8 friends last night. Everyone was pro Haye or Wladimir. I just wanted to see a good fight.
