I think Elvis has had one too many pints of Guinness. He keeps getting wound up and arguing with posts that were not even aimed at him. Funny.

I'm Irish and I find Slap Bang Wallop, hypocritical and overly-aggressive. Certainly will not be visiting his website. His attitude here has put me off.

The fans weren't embarrassing. it's called support. That's what you do. You support your countrymen and make an atmosphere. You don't want it sounding like the Emirates.

the meaning of the word 'snob'
' One who tends to patronize, rebuff, or ignore people regarded as social inferiors and imitate, admire, or seek association with people regarded as social superiors.
    2. One who affects an offensive air of self-satisfied superiority in matters of taste or intellect.'

mate,if this is what you are aspiring to be when you leave your parents house,my life is worth much much more. good luck with your goals in life:thumbsup

They were football fans booing the Ukrainian national anthem. It's horrendously embarrassing. Why can't they stay quiet for 2 minutes and show you've got a little bit of class.... That's right, because they don't have any. Hatton had the same type of fans too. It's just not needed. I don't even mind the singing even though it's mindnumbingly boring and lacking imagination - I can't imagine the education levels of said fans is very high.

Hatton had the best set of fans I'd ever seen. That is what you call support. You're right about booing a national anthem. But there's nothing wrong with believing in your fighter and creating a atmosphere.

Nah mate, I'm hungover though! :D

I've been called every name in the book on this forum for calling out Haye for what he is since he moved up to heavyweight. He can't behave the way he has and not expect some sort of backlash.

An atmosphere is good but there is a line and it's crossed every single time.

Hattons fans were booeing the US national anthem, and they were just football fans who know nothing about boxing singing "oo are ya". Then Germans get criticised for being boring. This is surely embarassing to you as a Brit.

At least tennis fans have enough class to show respect to the champion no matter what nationality he is, but they get called elitist snobs.

I imagine the Haye fans in Germany must have been very confused when they heard the announcer say "Ukrainian national anthem". Just like the Mitchell fans who started booeing him against Katsidis before they realised "oh ****, we're booeing the wrong person".

Mate, I've given my reasons for having that attitude. If you see nothing wrong with the Hatton and Haye fans that travelled over then there's something wrong with you. One of the guys in your avatar would agree with me so I don't know why you're so offended.

Tennis fans are the worst. I can't stand them. Hatton and Haye's fans showed great support. There's definitely some snobbery in this thread. Don't get me wrong, booing the national anthem is wrong, but British fans are without a doubt the best, the loudest and most loyal in the world.

The booing of the national anthem is disgraceful, could you imagine the outrage by our press if that happened whilst the British national anthem was played. Then again, it's only the beer-swilling, boorish brits so anything is permissable.....
