My opinion on why Haye versus Wad did not live up to the hype........................

The number one reason was their styles.

Both are boxers. Neither man can step into a phone booth and fight inside like Chico and Castillo, Duran and Leonard. Both guys were content to jab and throw bombs from the outside. That's what was missing from their game yesterday. Too much posing.

Wlad had perfect range, but was scared to throw body shots. Haye didn't take more chances walking in with a "ill take two land one" mentality when he needed to at any stage during the fight.

Their styles just did not clash enough to cause fireworks. I love watching all fights...even so called boring fights, but the old boxing adage "styles makes fights" was so apparent last night. A lot of times it isn't the fighters fault, and fans do suffer.....but at the end if the day...Wlad got the win.

Firstly, it's because Haye is nowhere near good enough to challenge Wladimir.
He never was, and never will be.
Haye has never ever justified his hype.

Secondly, it's because Haye was actually better at pure survival than we thought. He wasn't afraid to stink out the place. He didn't really come to fight. He turned timid soon and ran from wlad.

Styles makes fights, something 90% of the forum dont seem to understand is the fight was always going to be tatical warfare rather than an all guns blazing, all out war, still a disapointing fight as both men could have still shown a bit more conviction.

Haye did not run. Haye was trying, but Wlad was too big and long. Haye should've went for broke late in the fight and just walked in using his speed and defense. He didn't do that.

Wlad is just a 1,2 punch and that's it. He can't fight inside which makes a lot of his fights look boring, but his fans don't care so long as it keeps him out of danger. Haye could not expose Wlads flaw of not being able to fight inside. He was too small.

Larry Merchants love for Wlad was down right repulsive at times during and especially after the fight. Down right repulsive. Jones had the better outlook on tbe fight than Merchant did. I'm sitting here saying, "Is Merchant really saying this bullish" lmao...trying to justify Wlads performance to boxing fans as if it was all Hayes fault lmao.

Has Haye realistically ever been an exciting fight? He fought Valueav the same exact way, cautiously, only Valueav wasnt any good and left him alone. It was clear from the start Haye was more mouth than substance, its just people fall for it because they dont understand how someone could talk so tough and fight like a complete *****. The toe excuse was the icing on the cake. Haye should be banned from boxing.

No he wasnt trying. Trying would be to get inside and fight him, rough him up take him out of his gameplan. He seemed to understand that, but came to the fight and tried to box safely from the outside, and he was never going to win that way. After 8 rounds he should have realized he was losing badly with that gameplan, and if he was TRYING, he would have tried to fight more aggressively.

Maybe he wasn't trying to you, but he was trying. That was not close to an atg performance by either guy.

Wlad is an outside technician. He was doing what he does, Haye took zero chances. It was up to Haye to make the fight not run like a ***** after all that talk.. I dont blame Wlad, he fought his fight and Haye just stunk up the joint. Haye understood what needed to be done to win, and he fought scared.

Rare attempts at body punching, no left hooks to head and body, rare uppercut attempts, no 1,2 left hook to body, or just walk in left hooks to the body, no right hand leads. All I saw was jabs, 1,2's, and push downs, wild left hook, big right hand attempts, and that's it.
