Wlad demolished Lamon Brewster in his re-match, and if he faced Ross Purity (who is a joke that beat Wlad early on in his career) he without a doubt would win. But the main question is if Wlad got to face prime Corrie Sanders again today, would he win? I feel like Haye is better then Corrie Sanders and Haye would beat Wlad 8 years ago. Thus, I think Wlad would beat Corrie Sanders in his current prime. What are your opinions?
Ross Puritty was definitely no joke, even Vitali would agree with me. Wladimirs losses all were learning experiences for him, and its pretty obvious he'd beat all those guys rather handily in the shape he's in today.
That version of Sanders is all wrong even for today's Wlad. It would be a less exciting fight, but Wladimir's best chance would be to jab very cautiously and hope Sanders wore down late. That defeat wasn't a fluke. Sanders kicked his ass and I suspect always would give Wladimir big problems.
Prime Corrie Sanders would destroy Wlad, he got obliterated by fat out of shape straight off the golf course Corrie Sanders.
One thing Wlad proved last night is that he can deal with a fast powerful heavyweight now, and did so without even going into second gear. He'd now handily beat everyone he previously lost to without question. He'd just doing in a timid boring style.
Yet Sanders vacated the belt he won by defeating Wladimir, refusing to give him a rematch. Oh well, Wladimir is and will always go down as the greater fighter. :good
I agree with Lampley here. Sanders is kryptonite to Wlad... with his awkward style, punching power and his willingness and ability to take a huge punch to land one of his own. I think todays Wlad can beat him and even KO him, but it won't be easy and it's a real toss up between them.
Something about Wlad mentally says to me he needed those loses and comebacks to screw his head on straight. He has learned his lessons. He learned for Puritty to take the sport seriously, he learned form Sanders to box more intelligently when he's been hit and hurt and he learned from Brewster to pace himself. Some guys just need to get their ass handed to them to learn these things, for that reason alone I don't take anything away from Wlad now the weakness he has shown in the past.
You mean the prime Corrie Sanders who lost to Hasim Rahman and Nate Tubbs? Corrie Sanders in his "prime" never did anything. His prime was actually the later part of his career where he developed a better chin and more power. Him being out of shape was his problem.
Don be Childish Mr Magic... That was not the point what you are suggesting here.. Sanders got Far Bigger money fighting the older Bro. I would still think that fight might be toss up today between Wlad and Sanders. I might Pick Wlad just maybe.. Sanders was no fuken joke, ask Vitali about it.. only guy to **** Vitali's up big time..
sanders was just a decent boxer with good power who happend to be in the right place at the right time..wlad was heading for a ko the man admitted himself he took the south african lightly and went for the kill and got knocked out..i think wer all in agreement wlad needs to wear people down and use his boxing skills to win fights he is not a slugger and against sanders thats what he tryd to be and got starched
:thumbsup Ross was one of the toughest boxers ever. Tommy Morrison barely survived against him to salvage a draw, in a 10 rounder. He also said that Puritty was the strongest boxer he'd ever faced.
