The only part of David Haye which still has credibility is his chin

Sorry to make another thread on this fight but I've just logged on...

Not surprised by the tactics, outcome or **** poor excuse by Haye.

All I will say is stamina & chin wise, fair play to Haye. If I was him I would have focused more on that as a positive, rather than crying about his toe.

 

This has the credibility of being an ass.

 

Stamina is ok, but then again when you're throwing 10 punches around it's hardly in the league of top boxers out there

 

Yeah, was surprised by his ability to absorb a few big rights. Clearly hasn't got a bad chin, makes his lack of confidence in his ability to take risks all the more baffling.

 

haye did a lot of slipping and dodging which takes as much out of you as punching.

 

Gotta wonder if Booth affected his confidence, he told Haye long ago he couldn't afford to be hit flush by a HW. He took a few flush last night and came back well. I think Haye got into Boxings version of Greg Jackson (MMA trainer) = risks.

 

Maybe Booth is a bit drunk off that tactic because it worked so well against Valuev and for Groves against DeGale.

 

Let's be fair though, he took one solid right hand which he clearly saw and even anticipated it by swaying back with the punch. Didn't really prove anything in the punch resistance category but he did manage to be clever enough to last the 12 rounds comfortably.

That's about all you can say. I guess with a broken toe that's a reasonably good achievement when you look at how Wlad's last opponents have faired.

 

I thought that once he realised Wlad wasn't going to deck him he would of gone on the attack.The more I think about the fight the more I think Haye was there for a last big payday I hope not but cannot understand why he fought the way he did.Before I get jumped on yes Wlad fought a clever fight that was designed to negate Haye's strengths but it was still a **** poor performance from Haye.

 

Maybe he just dosent wanted to get punched in that pretty face.

Keep the Glamour Boy Good Looks for his Hollywood career.

Self prevsavation - seems to be the highest agenda in Haye and Booths so called Master Plan.

 

Haye is a boring fighter, always has been.. He is a back foot fighter who throws a few shots every now & then.... He isn't a great combination puncher, he doesn't switch attacks from body to head..

He is a myth that people have bought into.

I never thought Haye had much chance anyway if I'm honest. But if you watch the fight back and just watch his feet, he is clearly hampered with his right foot and this affected his already average footwork even more. So he only had to rely on head movement to avoid punches followed by the occasional lunge forward, which every time he did he lost his balance and fell to the canvas looking like an idiot.

Yeah it's a pretty crap excuse after 3 years of talk but fighting Wlad at 100% is hard enough, fighting him handicapped is suicide and he did well to comfortably survive.

 

People say If he went forward as if it was a forgone conclusion. The fact that Haye took some big punches and was backing Klitschko off even when throwing **** hayemakers makes me believe he could potentially have wno if he'd have went for it. The whole thing really was that he was trying to box him. He had 12 rounds to knock him out, not gather points. Where was the straight right he used to great effect on Ruiz? Where was the uppercut? A decent jab that wasn't just a setup or something to stay active? There was **** all there.

 

He took a few decent rights now and then and his reactions was good. This guys was glass jawed he wasn't gonna stand up to one decent right hand let alone 5-10 through the fight. He done well to limit those rights and also rolling back from the punch helps. Much better defensively then he once was.

I do believe though that both him and Booth lacked confidence in his Vera Lynn which is understandable i suppose.
