    You're right. It would be a cold day in Hell if;

    1) Sturm had the balls to leave Germany and actually fight someone
    2) If he actually managed to win
    3) Sturm even managed to step up and fight a mid-champ like Pavlik:good

Sturm is in the usual list of European bum make into stars

What you you know as "bailey" is actually the product of an MIT computer science student's summer research project. It was an effort to create a kind of artificial intelligence out of nothing more than the contents of Boxrec. The MIT student that created "bailey" received a course credit and C- on the project and his supervisor considered the result "scarcely credible" and "ludicrously obnoxious".

Lets look at a common opponent : De La Hoya

Sturm lost a controversial decision to Oscar
Hopkins Knocked him out in eight

Sturm doesnt punch as hard as a natural 175 pounder and wouldnt trouble hopkins with power, if you saw the Macklin fight he has a bad habit of holding his guard, Hopkins would have had no trouble throwing off combinations and if Sturm went to throw back he would have left himself open to counters.

Hopkins would TKO him late ( Depending on his chin ) and at the very least "Pavlik"ed the German . . . However with this fight likely being in Germany I could see the scorecards being a lot closer in his favour and if he was able to at least win a round or two hell i think he could win 3 depending on Hopkins activity then he would win by some bull**** German Judges view but thats only if hes able to take Hopkins Power.

Corrupt judges aside Hopkins wins a wide UD

Well....I guess that's one way of looking at a resume...

Javier Castillejo was a 39 year old WBA MW champ because.....he TKO'd Sturm in the 10th round in their previous fight...and he's so great you misnamed him Castillo

To say Cherifi was past his best would be a little bit of an understatement. In his 8 fights previous to the Sturm fight he was 3-5 including getting destroyed by that undersized middleweight that you knock on Hopkins resume, Tito Trinidad.

I don't really see the point of calling Giovanni Lorenzo as an alleged potential Pavlik opponent. Gary Lockett was an actual Pavlik opponent, is he something to get excited about? Furthermore, the guy might be considered good enough to fight a guy that Hopkins beat up on?

He beat Randy Griffin in a rematch. The first fight was a draw which featured interesting scoring. Griffin isn't exactly a special fighter.

I like Khoren Gevor a lot, but lets not get all crazy about calling him a "MW and SMW title contender." He somehow earned his way into a title shot at SMW after 1 fight. Also, the decision win against Gevor was dubious (which fits in right alongside last weeks Macklin decision in the dubious category).

To bolster Alcoba and Pittman up as undefeated doesn't mean much since they were 14-0 and 16-0. You can turn on friday night fights and see a 14-0 prospect and 16-0 prospect who doesn't belong fighting against a world champ weekly.

    I'll stop here.

Sturm is a good fighter, but I wouldn't exactly call him a "quick, two fisted fighter" as you called him nor would I necessarily subscribe to the theory that that's all it takes to beat Hopkins. I would suspect a prime Hopkins at 160 would beats Sturm with relative ease.
