just sayin....yes they are biased somewhat...SKY is biased somewhat..but i dont think theres nothing wrong with it....and impossible to call a fight for 12 rounds and not have one guy getting more **** than the other....
I had no problem with the things Larry was saying. I thought Roy was worse for Haye when he had done nothing. At least Larry waited till he realized Haye was just hoping to land one lucky shot.
I expected that crap from Wlad, jab his way to victory while staying safe the whole time, there's nothing special about his skill its pretty straightforward and it works for him cuz he's half giant, I expected more from Haye, he could have took more risks and pressed the fight more, if he had done that and made it slightly competitive I could see a cause for a rematch. Another thing about Haye, if something isn't working you change it up, Haye failed to do this in this fight, yes obviously his defensive skills are impressive but he had no inside game, failed to attack the body and established no jab. Its a sad state of affairs when this guy is ranked 3rd in the heavyweight divison, I hope the RING demotes him to 4th and lets Adamek slide in his spot, he is more deserving as his game is more diverse and will probably fight better against Vitali than Haye did against Wlad.
HBO are very biased against certain fighters. I do like Showtimes announce team a lot better, but back to HBO... Roy Jones was pretty biased for Haye, but he did give Wlad some credit. The rest were pretty biased for Wlad, but I didn't really see a reason to give Haye much credit...Besides credit for talking his way in to the fight. He simply wasn't trying at all. Besides, if anything they've been biased against Wlad in the past. I mean he hasn't got a fight on HBO in a while because they considered him boring, I remember them talking about him and his brother as being the 2 headed snake of the divisoion or something like that (all because he won't fight his brother), etc. They dislike Wlad a lot, and make no mistake about that. They just happened to dislike Haye more, and who could blame them? All that talk, and no fight. As for punches landed, or thrown WHO CARES? Compubox or not it's obvious Wlad won, Wlad threw more, Wlad landed more, Wlad controlled the fight. Haye wasn't active enough, didn't land enough, and constantly went backwards. Compubox, or not that fight was fairly easy to judge.
I cringed everytime Jones would talk about Haye or Wlad having a Glass Jaw. Jones has had his Glass Jaw shattered on every continent now I think. Who is he to be calling anyone Glass Jawed? It was embarrassing. Just like his last brutal KO he got from a guy that looked like Popeye.
Larry merchant is unbearable. He is probably the worst announcer, and this past fight wasn't any better. Anyone who believes he is just "telling it like it is" is obviously some Haye-hater or Klitschko Fanboy. There is no reason fro Merchant to go after fighters as critically and so personally as he does. It's obvious.
Merchant tells it like it really is......................"The whale has been harpooned" in the Vitali/Johnson fight, second round knockout at MSG, NY, over Teddy Atlas' boxer Kirk Johnson! Yes, the whale was harpooned. Atlas said that Johnson would knock Vitali with one punch! Geeeee, I guess Atlas was wrong, but he was right on the Vlad/Haye fight for a change..........
Pulling for Haye? He refuses to give the Klitschkos credit. I love RJJ as a fighter and announcer but his bias against Wlad was disgusting.
