Why are fans of 'The Sweet Science' (Floyd/Bhop fans) slow to defend the Klitschkos?

Many boxing fans hate the Klitschkos for being dominant but at the same time not overextending themselves (being too cautious - AKA being boring).

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Bernard Hopkins sometimes gets hated for the very same reason, being too defensive minded and not willing to engage enough to catch the interest of some fans who want to see slugfests. Floyd and Bhop's fans swear by their style as pure boxers, those who practice 'The Sweet Science' - the art of hitting without getting hit.

Although the Klitschkos are nowhere near as slick defensively as Floyd or Bernard, they have similar philosophies in not presenting their opponents very much opportunities to hit them while jabbing their way throughout the fight with some occasional power punching until their opponents have been broken down and ready to be KO'd or have fallen behind on the scorecards enroute to a UD loss.

My question is, why don't we see Floyd/Bhop fans defending the Klitsckos from their haters for fighting a very smart efficient boxing style with safety in mind and being very dominant with their results, which these fighters all have in common?

Mayweather is a lot more entertaining.

Because they use There reach and strength and just JAB JAB JAB a opponent for 12 rounds. (Wlad mainly)

    Vitali is more exciting.

At least Floyd and BHOP mix it up,

That's not why you defend him though when haters say he is boring. The Floyd fan defense is always, "we appreciate boxers, not sluggers".

So where is the appreciation for the Klitschkos? In fact, why the hate from some so-called "fans of the sweet science"?

Because Wlad just stays behind the Jab. Floyd is a lot more skillful.

Wlad's high KO rate is not just because of the jab. He does throw that big right, though not nearly enough IMO against Haye.

I appreciate the Kilts. They are very good fighters. However, their fights are not intriguing. Most of their opponents are horribly overmatched and don't come to the fight trying to win. Rooting for Goliath is not fun.

Also Wlad has the huge physical advantages over his opponents, plus that one punch KO power. He could have them out of there as quickly as possible...At least thats what i would think. Either way, i appreciate both their styles, as they are very effective and clearly know what works for them, even if it can be boring at times.

I've asked this same question myself...My main grip is Wlad's defense is not fluid enough, there is nothing special when it comes to his defense.. He's the prototype textbook boxer who gets the most out of his natural attributes...

Anyone who doesn't appreciate Klitchko doesn't appreciate boxing. He has the tools and utlilizes them to success. End if conversation.

I just appreciate B Hop and Floyd more because I feel like they are showing more skill and versatility in the ring and actually mix it up at times with heavy hitters.

I'd rather see Floyd be overly defensive against a guy 15 pounds heavier than watch Wlad do it against smaller men that he has more power then.

*******s like yourself say Floyd is boring...that's it. Floyd is criticized because of the **** he does out of the ring. Wlad is criticized for the **** he does in the ring.

History has proven size doesn't matter too much in the heavyweight division. Look at what Tyson did to bigger opponents.

Valuev is half a foot taller than Wlad, but couldn't do anything against Haye. Even did the chicken dance in the 12th round.

i don't blame wlad one bit for using his jab and his build to fight the way he does, especially since he has a suspect chin....but, being that the HW div has no cut-off max weight...and lighter weight guys are fighting in divs with only 5 -7 pound spreads....it's annoying to see wlad not try and finish a guy he has like 30+ pounds on

however, i do think he is a great example of how effective a proper jab is
