Why are fans of 'The Sweet Science' (Floyd/Bhop fans) slow to defend the Klitschkos?

:patsch Because the weight difference in lower weight classes is the same as at HW. Just admit you're a racist and know nothing about boxing.

    Paul Williams - 6ft 2, Martinez - 5ft 10. How did that worked out?

I respect any boxer with great skills, but to be honest I find mayweather more entertaining because he mixes up his punches and is highly skilled allthough he has some boring matches, wlad is a perfect textbook boxer nowadays so thats to be respected but it isnt always exciting. hopkins is awesome becaus ehe is old but still schooling everyone as a underdog over and over again.

Hopkins, Mayweather and Wlad may all be defensive minded fighters but your comparison in "philosophies" is still without any merit. Yes they are all defensive, but as proven by my punch stats Wlad is much, much more defensive than either Hopkins or Mayweather.

The one american based fighter who has a similar style would be Ruiz and nobody in america liked him. Not even the puerto rican community liked the way he fought and did not support him. The only reason his fights were shown was because he had Don King as a promoter and fought in an era where there was decent opposition.

Fact is HBO showed a lot of Wlad's early fights but losses to Purrity, Sanders and Brewster ruined his marketability in the US. The US fans will always be critical of non US heavyweights but they have shown they can be persuaded to value foreign heavies like Lewis, Tua, Golota etc.

The Klits have been very unfortunate to be fighting at the end of one great era where they could not compete at that point of their careers and an era which sucks beyond all belief.

Fact is contenders do not fight each other anymore at heavyweight so the Klits have no viable opposition anymore. Even during other shitty era's like Holmes era at least contenders fought each other to earn a shot and get themselves recognised by the fans before getting a shot at a title, now they just fight bums and stay undefeated until the Klits have no choice but to face them because they have beaten everyone else.

The heavyweight division sucks and the Klits all to often get wrongly blamed for having to face fat heavies, hype jobs with an amateur pedigree and former cruisers who realise the division is **** and can easily move up an make money.

I'm a big fan of Floyd, Bernard and Wlad.

A lot of people don't respect what Wladimir does where as i do, as a Boxer he's a perfect textbook example. It's called the "sweet science" for a reason, it just seem's too many people watching Boxing now a days just wanna' see "KO's and blood". They should go watch UFC in my opinion

Explain that to Michiganwarrior, who claims it's only "sweet science" if it makes you go oohh...aaahhhh...

With the Klitschkos, he claims it is "sour science". To be "sweet science" Michiganwarrior claims it must not only be textbook, but also pretty. :patsch

Mayweather and Hopkins are a lot more aggressive and offensive than Wlad.

Wlad landed 130 shots on Haye in 12 rounds. With something like 105 of them being jabs.

Mayweather regularly lands 250+ with hardly any of them being jabs.

What's more, Floyd opens up. He does fight defensively, but when he has a window he throws his hands.

Wlad just jabs jabs jabs as it's the only way he can win.

He just uses his size, to stay away from guys.

    It's just cynical.

He fights like a very defensive amateur.

When boxers can fight like amateurs, in the pro game, and win, it's usually because they're facing trash.

Truth is, elite big guys like Bowe and Lewis would knock him out in under 5 rounds

Thomas Hearns was much more etertaining to watch. Plus he was still the same weight as his oppoenents :patsch

 got that ass. Even Zab Judah throws more power punches than wlad
yeah seriously. I'd love to watch Wlad more if he had more defense than just backing away, clinching or pushing your head down.
