I always thought all that hype about Haye being a vicious, natural fighter who is somehow going to go in there with this experienced dominant giant genuine world champion Klitschko and somehow "unsettle" him by being "too rough" was ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS ! :yep

Who was it, one of the newspaper boxing writers/pundits on Sky Ringside episode, (maybe Evans?) was talking about Haye being a natural fighter who "fought boys from other schools" on the streets.
So that makes him somehow more of a real "fighter" than Klitschko. :rofl

(To be fair I'm not sure if Evans or whoever it was, actually picked Haye, but still).

There are thousands of guys out there who can talk a good fight. For some strange reason, Haye's talk was taken as something of a reality by pundits who should have known better.
All he ever had was the "puncher's chance" and he minimized even that by barely punching.

And for anyone in any doubt, he proved comprehensively that he isn't some tough guy, gung-ho, ferocious animal, and no real warrior - he's just a brat with a sore toe. :good

    Wow, such hate for Haye.
The toe comment was regrettable. He knows that now.
    The performance was not great.
    The hype was essential.
And people like me get fights wrong all the time - it's part of the business. I did think it would go 12 rounds - it was just the wrong man winning.
    It happens, it's normal.
We move on...Cook v Burns...that's the way the business works.

    Adios.

Its ridiculous that these plonkers aim abuse at people like Bunce - he's allowed an opinion!!! What is wrong with a boxing journalist, (who is also a fan remember) airing his opinion and getting behind a fighter! Yeah, he might have got it wrong, but why does it neccesitate the amount of vitriol and abuse that dick heads on here spout?

Its a ****ing boxing match. Chill out.

Everybody is entitled to an opinion...but 'I told you so' assaults have to be made before the first bell!
Find me somebody who predicted that Haye would run, fall over, take dozens of big rights, force Klitschko to hold in the last round and then lose on points. That is the ONLY prediction that counts, trust me. Saying that you knew Wlad would win is not a real prediction...you have to create the story of the fight.
I thought Haye would play dirty. He never did. But, if you thought Wlad would KO Haye...guess what? He never did. So, we are both equally wrong, get it?

    Adios.

    Not "hate", Mr.Bunce.
But Haye deserves to be put in his place. For too long he's been afforded the luxury of having pundits and fans take his self-hype as some sort of REALITY - and it never was, as many of us suspected. It's just talk.
He's been calling the whole heavyweight division (primarily Klitschko and all his opponents) "bums" for the last 3 years.
He's been calling them bums for losing to Klitschko.
People started to take him seriously as something better and different from those others.
There's nothing admirable in the way he conducted himself - before, during or after the fight.

On top of that, he talked the talk and didn't come close to walking the walk.

The reality is he's just another bum, by his own standards.

Steve, you mentioned before the fight Saturday that a defeated Haye may be forced into the ring against Vitali. You got inside info on this?? You think it may happen?

    Unforgiven:
Was it just talk against Enzo and Valuev and Mormeck?
Sure he has been talking but that is not a crime - he has been dividing people (many of whom were ringside on Saturday and had NEVER seen him fight before.) However, I feel that the hate online and in the papers is way out of proportion to his 'crime' of talking up a fight and NOT delivering.
Mab: Haye will fight again and the Klitschko Team has started the Vitali sale.

I can see Thursday's show being a bit lively!!!

    Adios.

Predictions are just that predictions they are like arseholes everybody has one.

What I am more interested in is what Buncey thought of the performance and would Haye every have what it takes to beat a Klitschko.

Would Haye have got anywhere with a more aggressive approach or would Wlad have just held him off with those long arms?

Haye is taking like a man that want to fight Vitali or Wlad again. Does this fight ever happen?

I lost £20 betting on Klitschko by KO, so I was wrong.

Whether that's "equally wrong" with predicting Haye to win, well, I guess that's a matter of opinion.

Anyway, it's not about who's right or wrong. It's more about Haye's utter failure to live up to his own hype and the expectations of those who DID believe in him.

His performance was not only miles off his own "brutal violent devastating execution" talk, it was miles away from your own "rough, dirty, vicious" scenario.

He hardly did anything, if we're honest. He just backed away and played it ultra-cautious.
Which is really the total opposite of what he pretends to be, isn't it ?

On top of that, he came out with the sore toe excuse.

No. Picking the winner beforehand is more accurate than picking the loser.

Last press conference before the fight:

WK: “So you want to send me to the hospital, David?”

    DH: “Yes.”

WK: “Oh. Yes? Okay. I wish you the best of health.”

Haye is a disgrace to boxing.
