The truth is essential.

 

That post by Vern hit the nail right on the head.

People give Audley **** for saying he was going to KO Haye, talking up this massive performance then doing little, and that was ok.

Now Haye has done the same (albeit he threw a few more punches), but in reality he's done similar to what Audley did, and people have a problem with it? Come on...

Haye deserves the same criticism Audley got, wether you agree with Audleys criticism or not

It was a poor performance. We said that on Five Live all night long, as early as the second round.
Nothing worked for Haye on the night - go ask Arreola, Chambers, Briggs etc and they all had the same problem. I thought Haye had a plan that would work. It never did.
I'm with that no-nothing trainer Freddie Roach on this one...and McGuigan and...you get the idea?

Just got off the phone to Ricky Hatton, he says he wants his joke back.

 

Enzo and Mormeck (decent cruisers) probably wouldn't last 8 rounds combined against the likes of Peter, Arreola, Thompson, Chagaev ...... all those "fat bums" that Haye supposed to be a class above.
That's the reality.
It's not that Haye is no good, he's just never come close to proving himself better than those other heavyweights, who he was allowed to slate publicly and was rarely called up on it.

Haye's performance against Valuev was only slightly better than a 46-year-old Holyfield's performance against the same man.
And Holyfield's so awful he shouldn't be allowed to fight.

I think it's fairly clear to everyone now that Haye is NOT a clear class above the Peters, Chambers, Chagaevs, Ibragimovs, Thompsons.
All of whom were decent heavyweight contenders, not bums.
None of them were "saviours of the division" either.

The difference between them and Haye comes down to the talk and the hype and the readiness to say outrageous and controversial, even disrespectful, things to inflate his own marketability.
In a way Haye needs to be commended for it.
On the other hand, I think it comes natural to him. It's just in his character to act silly.

 

The idea of Haye coming up from Cruiserweight and automatically being ranked above the likes of Chagev was silly to me.

I've refused to buy into Haye's hype and have alway's said Wladimir would Box Haye's ear's off and that seemed to be the case Saturday night
