Federer was different because people were watching the best to ever play. He was also an entertaining player and his dominance was fun. Aside from that, he always had good quality opponents, so comparing Federer to Wlad is bull****. Federer's dominance, in terms of fun and quality of opposition, was far more comparable to Ali's or Lewis'.

    Chess is a game. Irrelevant.

Tiger Woods, like Federer, beat many good players. He didn't dominate the worst era of golf in history. Aside from that, with his style of play, Woods was fun to watch. Comparing him to Wlad is strange because they clearly differ.

I don't fault Wlad at all. He's dominant and I have no issues with that. The depth of the division is terrible though and it's that I have issues with, not the people who dominate.

If you think Haye is a Ibragimov close, you know nothing about boxing.

His two biggest fights ever he was involved in saw him fight exactly like Ibragimov, he is a closer fighter to Sultan Ibragimov than even Timur is. He is the Ibragimov clone. Thank **** the days of David Haye boring out the division are long gone now.

Any sensible and knowledgeable follower of the division would have/should have seen right through Haye's bull****.

Adamek is after a pay day but at least he will go out on his shield. Haye put up almost the worst boxing performance i have seen, definitely for a fight of this magnitude. Even SSM did better against Pac.

Welcome to the age of marketing over substance.

    Nice backhanded compliments.

Anways... I highlighted the one part to point out the fact that NOBODY can dominate the entire WORLD of boxing for many years if they are not great. Maybe you don't understand exactly how big the world is... and exactly what type of talent it takes to even come close to being a heavyweight Champion, let alone win the Olympic Gold and then dominate the division as Champion for many years.

    End of story. Next....

Many fighters who aren't considered great could have had the same success Wlad has had against such a poor level of competition. None of these fighters he's beaten during his reign would have been good enough to beat Max Baer, Jerry Quarry, Jimmy Young, Michael Spinks, Ray Mercer, David Tua and so on, all of whom are considered less than great heavyweights.

A great fighter will dominate a good era. A good fighter will dominate a poor era.

David Haye was the real loser.

Wladimir Klitschko was the real winner.

Boxing's the same as it was a week ago.

Anyone with sense should be able to understand this.

 Yeah, none of those guys could EVER manage a win over Mercer, like Ferguson did. And gosh, Jimmy "The slick journeyman" Young was so awesome! Nobody like Ocasio on Wlad's resume to pull a win over Young. Nobody as supreme as Ellis to deal with Quarry on Wlad's resume either. Byrd was totally whipped twice but since that wasn't during Wlad's reign, I guess that doesn't count that he gave a clinic to Tua (tricky wording). Braddock was a re-prime heavyweight ATG for Baer. Just like in the movie! Nobody to contend with that level for Wlad either. Everyone Wlad's defended against wouldn't have been able to do anything at all against those guys! Old>Young. No exceptions. Keep trying to sell it. Plenty of rubes will buy.

100% agree. Their "savior" loses, so the division must suck. Sour grapes for everyone.

    That's complete nonsense.

Also, are you forgetting that Chris Byrd DID beat David Tua? Kinda blows a hole in that theory.

Actually Haye brought interest back to the division for two and a half years.

    Now division needs new star/villain.

Why do people keep saying that there is no "interest" in the division. What are you guys smoking? Even before David Haye, The Klitschko brothers were always in a constant battle with Mayweather, Pac, ect... as the most talked about fighters on every boxing forum around the internet. The ONLY place where heavyweight boxing has lost interest is in the United States. That's because the best guys in the division aren't from the United States. Pretty simple. It has nothing to do with the rest of the talent or fighters in the world. I am from the US and I happen to recognize that nowadays there are simply many great fighters completing from all over the world. Heavyweight boxing is absolutely huge in Europe right now.... and has been for LONG TIME.
