no hating and no trolling. i underestimated haye big time. he was very slick, fast and great head movement, his footwork looked nice too, and his stamina hold on. he had just bad balance. he lost, but imo he is a better fighter i thought. and clearly the best fighter after the K Bros
I was surprised with his chin. I never thought it'd go to points because I thought the options were Haye gets to him and takes him out before Wlad could land anything big or Wlad lands something and it's over. It's a shame the fight didn't happen in 2009 like it was meant to because Haye could easily rebuild and come again but he can't do that now with his october deadline.
Exactly my thoughts, too. He's still just below the two brothers, and Haye would probably beat every other heavy out there. Adamek, as well.
I was a little bit impressed, especially with his head movement. It was great and made Wladimir miss a lot.
Agreed. And that's the reason I'd want to see a rematch, being that hopefully Haye could learn from the fight. Haye really shouldn't retire so early, he gets a lot of **** on here but he is a very good boxer. I'd love to see him work with Roach.
Come on. Yeah, he showed good head movement and speed but I think he just proved how limited his skillset really is. His reflexes and speed are great but other then that he doesn't have much...
Underestimated his head movement and reflexes, yes. But.. overestimated his hand speed and offensive skills. Many punches looked quite amateurish and raw to be honest. Having said that if he focused less on his defense then he could have landed more punches himself ... at the cost of being more open and more off-balance. He showed a good jab though, haven't seen that in previous fights.
I was surprised by how much of a vagina Haye is. How can he talk like he does for years then step in the ring to run, complain, act like a ***** and make excuses afterwards. He showed nothing, couldn't put more than one punch together, lunging in wildly and off balance. Fkn pathetic.
Everything he did was evasive and that`s ok as long as you have a competent attack plan. Haye`s attack plan consisted of flaying, wide punches once or twice a round. It was thoroughly clueless and amateurish. It reeked of desperation.
His head movement impressed me, I never expected him to be so elusive. Then again he didn't really have much to contend with apart from the jab, but still impressive nonetheless.
I was not impressed with his punching power. It's clear to me now that he probably only has average heavy weight power, but since he punches in bunches he gives the appearance of being a heavy hitter.
I honestly thought Haye would be KTFO in 6, the way Wlad seemed to be pumped. So it was pleasantly surprising how well Haye dealt with the massive height and reach advantages, albeit losing a UD.
