If hitting the canvas like 7 times is a Matrix move, then yes, Haye was very impressive. :yep

Calm down, nowhere did I say I was satisfied with Wladimir's effort. Regardless, I find a great deal of irony in Haye performing similarly to Sultan Ibragimov after all of Haye's talk denigrating Wladimir for the fight.

Only it didn't happen. So it clearly wasn't a KO waiting to happen then was it now?

Have you ever seen the scores of fighters that 'didnt want to engage' Mike Tyson

They didn't often make the 12th

You ever see the Tony Tucker and Bonecrusher Smith fights? Even when Tyson was prime he had no joy with skilled guys that didnt want to fight.

I dont think Wlad is tough enough mentally to deal with Tyson, i could see him being quite intimidated.

    "No joy" :huh:patsch

Bonecrusher clinched a millions times, & should've been DQ'd like Akinwande against Lewis. When Bonecrusher wasn't stinking out the joint with excessive holding, Tyson dominated him. Mike took the first 11 rounds, i gave Bonecrusher the 12th, since he momentarily stunned Tyson with the best punch of the fight, a flush bomb on the chin.

Why the bull**** nonsense about the Tucker fight? Tony's best moment of the fight was when he lifted Tyson off his feet with a huge uppercut in round 1, but it didn't even dent him. Tucker won 2 of the first 3 rounds, then Tyson switched to pressure-jabbing (Mercer against Lewis style) & won the next 9 rounds in a row by mainly relying on his shotgun jab, & out-jabbing the 6'5, 82 inch reach jabber in Tucker...

You should've gone to Specsavers. :blood

I had money on a Wlad KO and agree with all of this.

IMO Haye did well to survive in a fight he should have and could have been KO'd in.

I predicted that Haye would get caught by the hook as he lunged in and Steward was telling Wlad everything in the corner I was telling my TV Screen ......... "use those hooks when he comes in" ...... "up the tempo" ...... "let your hands go"

Fair enough, Wlad won comfortably and may indeed have taken some damage himself if he let his hands go more ................... but for me he could have punished Haye for those mistakes, Wlad was too tentative, too cautious.

He even claimed Haye never hurt him throughout the fight ....... so why be all cautious?

I think you are missing the point. Badly.

The point is even Tyson could not force them to engage when they didnt want to. If a skilled heavyweight comes not to fight but to grab and spoil there is **** all even a great offensive fighter like Tyson could do about it.

As for the the Tucker fight when Tucker went into survival mode after breaking his hand in the third or fourth Tyson never looked like getting him out of there... or did you forget that in your rush to rant at me?

Unlike Haye Tyson was affraid to take a punch to get inside and again unlike Haye Tyson had a great inside game.

Haye got under Wlads skin with a silly tee shirt. Imagine how he would have reacted to a guy in his face wanting to eat his babies and biting his legs?

Watched the fight again and while Haye showed good movement in this scene I heard 3 distinct punches land on him. Without this evasive maneuver he may well have been in trouble because Wlad threw the kitchen sink into this punch.

I agree, but I would add that David Haye put on a clinic for the sway or fade technique. Haye’s ability to anticipate Wlads punch and move his upper body / head back so that Wlad’s punches either missed or had its force appreciably lessened was masterful and was also a big factor in why Wlad didn’t get a KO.
