I wasnt surprised. However he looked much better than in his other HW fights. This was certainly his best fight at the weight. At 212 lbs he looked sharp and fast. If he only had higher workrate and a bit more confidence he could make the fight competetive. And his chin isnt that bad as people thought.
Of course he was way too negative overall, when you fight a unification and you re clearly behind on the cards you have to take more risks
LOLZ Why not make another haye "If" thread about it, hell there are only 2785 "if" threads about him now. atsch
I was impressed with his defensive skills, I expected Wlad to have much easier time landing the jab. Because he was able to make Wlad miss with the jab it definitely affected the amount of right hands Wlad threw. However, we didn't get to see much offense because Wlad's is great at nullifying his opponents. He puts so much pressure on his opponent by cutting the ring off behind the jab that his opponents are constantly on the back foot and pre-occupied with their defence to mount any serious and consistent attack.
i would love to see him fight povetkin, chambers, arreola or adamek, that would be great exciting fights. the K-Bros are just to good for this division now
His movement was very good. His wild swinging punches were not. He looked like an Amateur or a drunk guy in a bar trying to hit Wlad.
I never thought he would come out that cautious and basically hand over his belt to wlad that easily.
To be fair Wlad never really felt anything like a full power shot from Haye. Wlad's defence was simply to good. Even when Haye did land cleanly, Wlad was already moving away or moved his head to take most of the power off the shot. Haye tried to walk Wlad into a big punch but could never pull it off as Wlad was in full on defence mode.
I wouldn't really say he punches in bunches. Or that punches in bunches give you the appearance of being a heavy hitter. And he definitely had Wlad hurt in the 12th with the right hand. This content is protected Haye was never in danger of being ko'd here, would you say Wladimir only possesses average hw power?
Honestly this is the **** we already knew about Haye, his head movement and Hayes ability to know his own range, However Wlad has delt with that before, Chris Byrd ring a bell? The difference here is Byrd did not have the same power that Haye had, and Wlad knew that. However both fighters should be ashamed of themselves both of them talking that much **** and turn up to fight with those performances? WTF kind of World Champions do we have these days?
With what, 3 punches a round. Any reasonably busy fighter with a good chin has a very good chance to beat Haye.
I love the ref just following them around perfectly happy watching Wlad drag Haye around by his head.
