Excuse me sir? I am not from Africa and i never been to zimbabwe! I have been to 7 Eleven many times though!
10 would be alot to name even for the 1980s. So I will name boxers from that golden era that the American public should know. 1. Ray Leonard 2. Tommy Hearns 3. Marvin Hagler 4. Roberto Duran 5. Alexis Arguello 6. Larry Holmes 7. Mike Tyson 8. Aaron Pryor Unless I've forgotten anyone, that's just 8 fighters from the 80s that have had big profile fights that the general public should have been aware of. The popularity in the US may not be as high as past eras, but the sport remains very strong on a global scale and is getting bigger. Boxing is not dying.
Whats wrong with that though? You didnt answer my question of who else Pacquiao should fight, because you know Marquez is the only fighter out there that can draw the numbers and fight well. A catchweight is actually a good thing in this fight as both fighters will be at an even playing field (unlike mayweather vs marquez) And how do you know Marquez is only fighting for a one time thing? If he wins the belt you can be damn sure he would want to defend it, possibly wanting a rematch with Mayweather or a big fight against Ortiz... This is exactly what boxing needs, and its happening. So the theory of decline in boxing is something i still strongly disagree with
boxing is not what it was years ago but it will never completely die. there's always going to be a fight or two a year that will capture the mainstream sports fan's interest. there's enough good, exciting prospects for the sport to keep going.
