Haye vs Wlad... Constructive criticism on the fight and Props.

    Well like most on here I expected more from this fight but oh well that how it goes from time to time. Both seem timid and gave the other toooo much respect. Wlad fights like he always fights ( boring but effective for him) but he did more than Haye who's bark was more than his action. Haye needs to learn how to box better and that means getting a known boxer friendly trainer in his corner. I picked Haye and thought he had all the intangibles to beat Wlad. But it was not to be. I would like to give props to both Wlad and Haye for bringing interest to this fight and it was promoted well and it maybe the last big HW fight in awhile eventhough I hope I'm wrong. Boxing when meaningful matches are relevant is very much ALIVE!!

    This fight was more about what Haye didn't do than what Wlad did do. Wlad always fights like he fights and not aggressive. Haye would have been serve using his jab more.

    I agree for the most part.Both showed their chins are not fragile. Also, both respected each other in there. Maybe a little too much respect, lol.

    Haye simply talked the talk and didnt fight like he hinted he would. He needed to take more risks to get inside on Wlad and wasnt prepared to. His very criticisms of Wlad being overly cautious and boring were true of himself. He'd clumsily just lunge in with a wild shot...other than that (and they mostly missed by miles and he'd then fall to the ground) he didnt do anything except try to survive. He was really all about £'s...nothing more. He wants a rematch? Why?? Only £'s again cos he knows he wasn't really competitive. Theres a write up on boxing news 24 right now summing it up nicely. I believe Larry Merchant comentating for HBO said "wake me up when the fight starts" at round 8! :lol:

    I think Larry Merchant is a grumpy old man at times but he made some good points on the fight. Like I was telling a friend the other day you have to take risk if you want to be the best. One shot at a time is not gonna work on a good world champion no matter how hard your shots are thrown.

    Boxingnews24 is a joke blog site masquerading as a legit boxing news site. it is full of ridiculously biased writers who don't actually know much about boxing.

    Haye's not about the £s as he wouldn't be fighting beyond his retirement date if this was true. For Haye this is about the glory.

    Haye very effectively took away Wlad's jab it's just a shame he wasn't a bit busier in his offence, because most of the time when Haye did come forward wlad would immediately go on to the back foot and panic a bit.

    Im sure Haye will watch through this fight and spot what he did wrong and no doubt thinks he can beat wlad in a rematch. I personally would like to see a rematch in the future sometime, as both fighters presented the biggest challenge to eachother that both have faced in a long time.

    Haye has a longer reach than Wlad. I think a rematch or fight with V. Klit is possible. But maybe he will be better served fighting a top contender before fighting one of the Klit brothers. Haye needs to use his jab more because it will better serve him.

    I thought the fight was interesting but lacked excitement for the general public.
    I think Sky will show a lot less PPV fights in future but you can't blame them for making the HW championship of the world PPV. It doesn't get bigger than that.

    I had Wlad by midround KO and never gave Haye a chance to win but Wlad got fooled by all that hype and overestimated Haye big.. He thought Haye was some intelligent sniper and a great counter puncher whos dangerous at midrange or all those **** Haye supposedly has done in fantasy fights but hes only some euro level outfighter who got some power. He should have blown him out there plain and simple. okay Wlad more than often plays it safe and there was his legacy on the line in this one since Haye would have never given him a rematch had he won somehow but even without taking any risks he missed so much opporunities when Haye was scrubling around. He should have gone for the kill at least by round 7 when Haye was pretty much done to bring some excitement on when the whole world was watching him fight for once. At least he tried towards the end the last two minutes of the fight to finish business inside the distance but it was way to little against that little mouthy Brit who never deserved to share the ring with him in the first place. Its been clearly Wlads worst performance since Rahman.
