I started a thread on this yesterday but for some reason it got deleted.

    Anyways I Just got back.
Had an awesome time. Hamburg was great.
The brits made the atmosphere truly special. The germans put on a HELL of a show. The fight was ok aswel. Not too annoyed with he result. Wlad fought an intelligent fight and was too good for haye, who was slightly hampered by his foot. On the night, the right man won (infact if anything the scorecards were a bit ****..i had it 12-0 to wlad). I was particularly impressed at how wladimir was cutting off the ring in the first couple rounds.

Anyways being in Germany for 4 days we traveled predominantly in taxi's and buses. In total i found german people to be very friendly and open to talk to (i happened to know how to speak german).

In total i had deep discussions with guys on the plane, buses, hotels, taxis, at the stadium, after the fight, in food shops. In total i must have spoken to over 20 different guys. and not a single one of them like Wladimir. This shocked me.
They ALL respected wlad's reign. they all wanted klit to beat haye (which he did) but every single one of them said that they can barely stand watching Klitschko fight. A few of them went as far as saying since the klit's have began their dominance, they havent watched heavyweight boxing at all.

In the stadium (i sat in the german section), the fans behind me were for the most part scoring the fight 11-1 to wlad, but at the same time repeatedly saying how they wished wlad would just go for it.

Other brits who went out to germany, did you get these sort of vibes? Im genuinely surprised because i expected the germans to defend klit at all costs. but they all seemed fed up of his boring style.

So in other words , people who pay to watch Wlad Klitschko are always hoping to see him lose against (enter name of opponent)...

Ps: you used a lot of "in total".

that seems to be everyones thought, they respect his reign, think he has good enough skills just want him to play it less safe and go for the ko earlier.

I'm not German, but I pretty much see this the same way. I don't much care for his cautious style either, its effective for sure, but I was wishing the whole fight he would let more punches go himself, its not just this fight, its every one he's in.
Of course he's not changing his ways now, that's who he is, and I accept that its effective, but really not exciting in any way, shape or form. I can certainly understand German fans feeling this way, but I think most of the world feels this way.
Though I think he could still let more punches go, it makes it much more difficult if the opponent in front of you is not willing to exchange, this happens in most of his fights as well, so I can't just place blame on him. He's a dominant champ, and for that I respect.

The Klitschkos are consistently running ultra high TV ratings on RTL with their German audience. Regardless of what people say or think, somebody is watching.

    :deal

i fully agree with this. its just that due to the large audience he draws and the viewing figures i assumed he'd be super popular amongst the general public in Germany (like a ricky hatton in the uk for pacquiao in the usa). But this did not prove to be the case.

    You live and learn

i've spoken to a lot of people on ESB in total and you're one of the most stupid i've encountered. In total you've annoyed me 5 times in 2 posts.

This is true I heard most Germans could be bothered to show up for his weigh in. They are not that into him! Look at the support Haye had despite that idiot fish eyes ****** saying Brits were not interested

oh ok. So basically only a small tiny minority of people dislike him. And it was just fortunate that i happened to meet 20 of them in a row.

The ones I spoke all liked and supported Wladimir... in the train, the cab driver (no he wasn't a boxer, just a regular cab driver), the hotel personell...

You meat totally different Germans as I did probably.
Did they speak English, had the Union Jack draped around them and drinking beer by any chance? :think

Well, i'm not a German (Dutch) but i have to say the atmosfere was amazing. Before the fight there were plenty of songs from the English. A few English people next to me were making a lot of noize to before he fight. But from the opening bell i didn't hear anything from them anymore. Everybody was making noize for Klitschko.

I think it has to deal with Haye not coming out from his dressing room. From that moment i felt pretty sure Klitschko would beat Haye.
