floyd said it himself that he deserves a tune-up after that long vacation and before facing pacquiao. for floyd, ortiz is an easy tune-up after he saw the berto fight and he could have saw the peterson and maidana fight.

because even if he has an official win over marquez, many boxing fans still want a trilogy of some sort just because of the closeness of the two fights. also at the time jmm was rumored to fight pac, please enlighten us where was floyd during that time? was he on vacation?

There's a reason that Floyd supporters come few and far between homie. It's simply b/c Floyd's mouth and actions don't make much sense when it comes to this topic. Floyd's acted in a manner that no one has ever seen from him and it all seems to stem from not wanting to fight PAC and creating every obstacle to prevent making the fight happen. When it should have been very easy to make.

Floyd facing the smaller man whom he said wouldn't be an issue in the ring doesn't support his need for extra testing nor the need to spread potentially damaging comments about the legitimacy of his career accomplishments.

Just take the test. Was $10 million per pound an obstacle for Floyd? Apparently not because he said yes immediately. One side agreed to the demands of the other. The other side left negotiations and fought in-house Bob Arum opponents.

The fact that Manny signed to fight Clottey 3 days later does not smell like a duck to you? Come on.... Your bias is really showing through. If Mayweather said no to the $10 million per pound, left Pacquiao with no opponent, and signed a fight 3 days later, you wouldn't say he was ducking? Mayweather had no other opponent lined up, his eyes were only on Pacquiao. The same can't be said for Manny and his team, and the proof is in their actions.

And I don't like Mayweather's public attitude either, but Pacquiao is the one ducking. Liking somebody for their personality over another person is not a reason to ignore common sense.

Sure..Floyd keeps it real... Acting like he's a hood guy when Ortiz has more street credibility than he does.

Of course not... Mike didn't go out and BLAST Holy as a cheat, roid user or A SIDE of meff user either. He went about the request in a manner that promoted actually WANTING to make the fight, while also adressing his concerns that Holy could be using something extra.

See... Mike could have killed the fight by BLASTING Holy in the press before negotiations started about how Holy was a cheat and used roids to compete at HW, then DEMANDED Holy take his test if he wanted to fight.

But Mike didn't do that..he RESPECTFULLY asked for POST FIGHT blood test to ensure Holy wasn't working with an advantage and Mike did so in a PROFESSIONAL manner where Holy wouldn't have any ill feelings about how Mike went about the REQUEST...NOT THE DEMAND.

They way Floyd went about his DEMANDS was COMPLETELY on the opposite side of the spectrum in comparison to how Mike handled the situation with Holy.

And of course we got different results.

Nobody wants a trilogy 4 years later just like after the 1st fight Pac waited 4 years to rematch jmm.

Floyd was waiting on Pacquiao to agree to the testing. Instead Pac had all his fights lined up before the other was over. He promised Margo a fight in November right after the Clottey fight then signed Mosley to a 2 fight deal just so he can fight Pac after Mayweather destroyed him. Jmm was made before the Mosley fight even went down. So its safe to say the never tried to get a fight with Mayweather after they ran from 14day cut off to fight Clottey!

OK.... whatever you say. Let's hope Floyd takes the fight and we finally get the answer the boxing world wants to know. Who would win if they ever fought. It looks as if both are ready to make it happen.

14 days was only offered by Floyd after they mistakenly thought Pacquiao took a mandatory drug test 14 days before the Hatton fight even though it was 24 days.

Actually, Mike Tyson was accusing Evander of using steroids, point blank. And even though Evander did not get caught for that fight, as tests got better, he eventually did. This "it was a respectful request" nonsense you are spouting is insane. Evander was being blasted. You know what the REAL difference is/was? Evander said "F it, I'll take the tests."

Now Mike Tyson has a loss with what was most likely a PED user. Do people remember that Holyfield is a cheat? Or that he beat Mike Tyson?

If Manny takes the tests, all this goes away. It is THAT simple. I had no doubts about Manny UNTIL HE REFUSED THE TESTING!!! The only people really putting suspicion on Manny is himself, and his team.

How many different excuses have they gave for not taking the tests? I've lost count........

Of course 10 mill per pound isn't an obstacle. Floyd makes 146 all day long without issue and he keeps his weight in check.

By PAC taking Josh on instead of Floyd only spoke to how tired PAC was with hearing ALL of the excuses from Floyds end. At least he fought and stayed active. Floyd went on vacation, found a fiance, lost his urge and had exhibition fights with women and security guards. All jokes aside.....Floyd coming back to boxing is exactly what he should have done a long time ago.

Even if he wasn't ready to fight PAC. Him facing PAC after Ortiz is something that can change the perception he's earned by his actions over the last 20 months or so. And I'd be willing to move forward and stop bringing up all the **** Floyd has done to prevent this fight.

I agree that one shouldn't disregard common sense based on "liking" or "disliking" a person or situation that is the topic...which is self serving advice you need to re-consider.
