You have absolutely no clue about the sweet science, and that much is painfully obvious when you list brawlers and sluggers like Cote and Martin as having "phenomenal" hands. Cote and Martin are both windmilling sluggers and Cote is marginally more successful because he, like Leben, has a granite chin. Once again, an illustration of how punch resistance can make fighters with ordinary skills much more successful.

Akiyama has decent hands but his footwork, jab, and sense of distance suck. He has flashes of brilliance because he hits hard, can throw some halfway decent combinations, and MOST IMPORTANTLY he can take one to give one.

Wake the **** up or go learn how to box.

Actually do Muay Thai and Brazilian Jujitsu. You got some balls saying the M.C. Combative System is ****. I suggest you go slap a marine and check the response. Cote and Martin both have excellent hands. Good techniques and solid boxing. Footwork and telegraphing is a problem for Martin but overall his fundamentals are solid. That's all I'm saying. Definitely not making them to be a BJ Penn or a Anderson Silva. I think we all are misunderstanding posts in this thread.

Siver 29-28 I had it. 1st round was a clear round for Siver, much more effective striking and neutralised Wiman's game bar a token takedown at the end. 2nd round 10-9 Wiman, some good GNP but Siver wasn't badly hurt, just badly cut. 3rd round Wiman was going for subs but not getting close to them, got takedowns but caused no damage and Siver was more dangerous standing.

I've grappled and boxed with a buddy of mine that came back from the Marines and I wasn't impressed, at all. Obviously Marines that train MCMAP will beat up the average joe who hasn't trained anything but really, I'm not just trying to rile you up when I say that MCMAP doesn't replace a real BJJ gym and it doesn't replace a real boxing/Thai boxing gym. You guys are training to do a lot more than fight with hands whereas anyone who steps into a gym to learn to box is doing nothing but devoting all their attention to the sweet science.

And anyone who has boxed will tell you that I'm not just trolling and pissing you off when I say that Leben, Martin, and Cote have crap hands. They're not "amazing" or "phenomenal" or anything like that. They're brawlers with NO fundamentals. They all use chins for defense and Martin doesn't have a chin. All three generally throw haymakers from the waist, not one has a jab, all of their footwork is trash, and I could go on and on. Really dude, they're not good boxers, at all. That's why I doubt you've ever been to a real gym because you apparently have trouble telling flat footed brawlers that telegraph every punch they throw and wind up from the waist from truly outstanding fighters.

MMA guys with awesome hands are Anderson, Penn, Overeem, Arlovski (pity about the chin), and Edgar. Good hands are guys like Rampage, Minotoro, Dos Santos, and Diaz. Anything after those type guys is average at best and in many cases, utter crap.
