In time, Wlad will be a much more appreciated fighter. For now, he'll be relegated to the losing end of most fantasy matchups. He is thoroughly effective against the field of opposition now, and that count's for a hell of alot.

You can't discount being in complete control of just about every fight you're in, even if you are "boring" or "too tentative"...

wow you've written more on a boxing website. i am proud of you:good wlad is a *****. vitaly has balls. wlad is a bully who can't take what he dishes out. the heavyweight division is bad, he beat a bunch of shitty fighters. tommy morrison would even jack this dude up. the quality of opposition may not be klits fault, but if floyd were fighting b class fighters, he'd be putting on a clinic.wlads arsenal is limited. his defensive skills is just his height. thats awful.

i still think it takes balls to fight anyone in the heavyweight division without the same last name as you despite having a pretty shitty chin

Haye's placement near the top of the heavyweight hill isn't disputed. But then, it isn't saying much either. He's a poodle with a malicious attitude (well, in theory anyway).

Loughran, a stand-up boxer, was nothing like a puncher, yet he could and did mix it up when he had too. I'd agree that there are similarities in their styles, but just a glimpse at the guys Tommy defeated put to flight any comparison with Wlad.

It is good to see Wlad getting his due, but I think that picking him over Louis is a step too far.

At the rate the K-brothers are going, and with a combined 98-5 pro record, both will be inducted into the IBHOF when they finally decided to wrap up their careers..... This is something that other notable brotherhoods like "The Baers" and "The Spinks" family cannot claim..... Oh, of course Max Baer and Michael Spinks are legit Hallers up in New York, but that's not the case with Buddy Baer or Leon Spinks.....

    Bravo, bravo. :happy

I think if Wlad shot a left hook and straight right he could have done away with Haye. Steward talked about this in the corner, but the guy throws the left hook in a single shot, and rarely does.

Thank you for saying this. I'm sick of all the lavishing over Wlad's effectiveness. And to simply point out his flaws and deficiencies physically or mentally, or his opponents tactical errors is simply criminal and undermining to his Godly jab. His opponents make his defense & jab out to be uncrackable because none of his opposition know how to penetrate it. Because they haven't been taught, or don't have the tools. I don't know what to say for the people who can't see this.

Sure. However, something needs to the point that boxing is a sport and it's survival depends on its entertainment value.

If every fighter fought like Wlad (or Tommy Loughran for that matter), boxing would most certainly vanish from prime time and HBO in no time at all, and that would be that. Thank God for the Wards and the Benns and the Gattis and the Walkers and the Mancinis.

I like Wlad alot -he's a credit to the human race, but he is killing any chance that boxing's fan base will expand. I'm willing to see him get hurt so that this reign ends. He's the Calvin Coolidge of Heavyweight Champs.

...some just won't see it. Others rightfully acknowledge his effectiveness but confuse "size" with "skill." Shoot, I wish I could build a terminator-like reputation off of relative midgets.

...Where's Lilliput? I'm gonna go and challenge the best of them and be champ for 20 years.

    :lol:i see your point...

however i think the classic has long struggled with size vs skill.

sometimes, size does not make you better (in the case of wlad vs. louis)

sometimes, size does make you more effective (in the case of wlad vs everyone today)

either size matters or it doesn't. if there was no skill in what wlad is doing than valuev would be the world champ. there is a skill using the physical attributes you have to their advantage. sure, he has many physical advantages...so did fred fulton and other than beating a blind lanford, he didn't dominate his era.

size either is irrelavant, in which case wlad is very skilled and exceptionally effective

OR size is completely relevant, in which case wlad would then beat every smaller heavyweight in history h2h

i don't believe either is true. personally i think wlad relies on the skill to use his advantages to their utmost (size, physical strength) and downplay his disadvantages (chin, inside game)

C´mon guys....Wlad is not more boring than....well, Monzon......in my opinion......

Boring fighters is something has always existed and always will exist.....he is not killing nothing.......there is plenty of fun fighters to watch, today.....
