Did David Haye have the ability to beat Wlad but simply lacked the Courage?

Based on what we saw Saturday, did David simply fear Goliath and therefore deny himself and opportunity for victory or was he simply going to be outclassed?

He had the ability but lacked the gameplan/trainer in my view, his entire gameplan was based on a 1 punch knockout.

Not enough jabs or lead lefts, everything was just wild right hayemakers.

This is a question that the Hayetards will find difficulty answering.

Because they either have to admit that Haye really isn't that good or else he bottled it.

The fact is, Haye is nowhere near the level of Wlad. This was pretty obvious before the fight. Some people get caught up in the hype and others are simply blinded by patriotism.

He had the physical attributes but simply doesn't have the right style and the right strategy to beat Wlad. He would have to drastically change how he fights to have any success and very few fighters have been able to alter the way they fight so late on in their careers.

I think that it's moment of honesty for anyone who supported Haye.

David came in with up to a 20% chance to win by stoppage because of his speed and the pop in his punches. He took few risks and reduced his chance to close to nil. WK chose to let David do so and the UD resulted. It was a predictable scenario.

He lost a fight, beaten by the better man on the night, probably doesn't have the style to beat Wlad. End of story really.

Neither fighter can fight on the inside, Haye couldn't get inside and Wlad's defence was too good to land at range.

He definitely could not follow through after hurting Wlad. His gameplan sucked, but everytime he connected with the right and stunned Wlad he rarely followed with a left hook. The key to beating a bigger guy is bodypunching their was nothing from Haye on that either, if he knew Wlad would clinch and push him down, that was Hayes golden chance to tag him with his guard down. There were patterns there. Haye and his team not the brightest bunch. Haye under anyone else would be a different story. Haye cant put a decent combination together. He needs to watch Holyfield tapes.

yes, but he could also still lose by walking onto a punch.

He does have the speed and power, but they didn't impliment it very well. I mean, they didn't even anticipate Wlad being cautious for Christ sake.

You don't need great power to drop Wlad, you just need to be able to hit his chin flush. Haye has the speed and reflexes but just lacks the heart to take the risks to get his shots in there.

Haye just wouldn't let his hands go.

I think he needed to change his game plan.
Wlad won because he threw more punches. Wlad had a hard time landing anything. Haye also had a hard time landing, but that's because he was trying to land bombs. When you have a fight where neither guy is landing much, the guy who throws more wins. That's why Wlad won.
If Haye had switched his plan, by not loading up and just throwing a few quick punches, He could have won rounds and the fight, by a decision.

He should have been doing that anyway. Even when your plan is to score a KO, you should not give away rounds. Haye was dumb and he had no back-up plan, but if he did, I think he had the skill to implement one and be successful.
