He fought exactly as heavyweight David Haye fights. That WAS his style. It wasn't enough and never could have been.

Haye showed he could evade Wlad's vaunted left jab for large periods of the fight. He showed he has a much better chin than most figured and he hurt Wlad momentarily in the 12th round with a hayemaker. He has a chance to defeat Wlad if he improves his boxing technique under a new, more experienced trainer. Outside of Wlad and Vitali, Haye as of today wipes the floor with all other heavyweight contenders. He is one serious athletic talent.

I am sorry but your post here is just utter bull****, Haye did have the ability but lacked the balls to turn it on.
However wlads performance also indicates that Haye had something about him that made Wlad respect him enough to not engage with Haye very much.
Sure haye lost the fight, but in reality there wasnt even really a fight, not on Wlads side neither and lets be real here though Wlad won the fight, Hayes one shot at a time right hands that did make their mark were the most telling shots the entire night...

Wlad though he is the champion he just isnt that good, if you know how to cut off the ring a man moving like that should be falling into traps you set... That didnt happen... Wlad just cant cut off the ring....

thats one great post and i agree! haye gets too much **** for loosing to the best wladimir we have ever seen!
Not saying haye couldnt have done a little bit more! yes he should have taken more chances but then again wladimir was very smart..
people forget it was never hayes talent to lead himself! he is always waiting for the counter opportunity which wladimir never gave him all night! wladimir made himm miss with that right all night and made him look foolish but haye tried again and again! he can improve on this performance and mistakes he made no doubt

If he had the ability to beat him he would have used it. Wladimir's style was better than his, that's why he couldn't apply anything. All Haye was able to do is charge in with big punches here and there and remain inactive. Wladimir's jab would reset his stance every time he planned to do something.

Haye lost every round and was owned.

I just read Booth's interview about the match.

It wasn't what Haye was trying to do that mattered.

It was actually Klitschko ruining Haye and Booth's fight plan from round one WITHOUT clinching that Haye got beat.

    Well, according to Booth anyway.

I gotta say no, he has the speed and the power, but lacks the ability to utilize it against someone as tall and skilled as Wlad, especially considering how great Wlad is at keeping range. I saw him several times lunge in with big rights but it simply wasn't there most of the time. It is tough to say though because Haye did land a couple big shots which seemed to bother Wlad once or twice, so IF he had the courage to do that more I suppose it's possible but again I gotta say no. Haye def not a G, not a G at all, just a pretty boy flappin his gums.

    He didn't lose every round.

Is it because Haye was afraid to take chances and didn't have the offensive output necessary to win or do you think even if he did take chances it wouldnt change the results?

Jesus ****ing Christ these threads are getting old. NO, DAVID HAYE WAS COMPLETELY OUTCLASSED! He isn't in Wlad's league. Had David Have showed more "courage" he would have been knocked out. Haye knew this... which is why he didn't.

Not sure about the punching power anymore. He hit Wlad pretty well a few times with almost no effect.
