ok can you tell me which other fighter had ever stopped morales? even a shot morales who was at two weight divisions above his last effective weight, he can't be stopped by a hard hitting, relentless and one of the top jr. welter who has a stoppage victory over floyd's current opponent.

Of course considering it almost got him fighter of the year. I vividly remember the hype around Raheem after that fight. They were marketing him as one of the most slick boxers at the time and he was looking at HBO interest in him. Raheem screwed it all up by putting on a stinker with Freitas. From time time, a few Floyd fans will bring him up as someone Pac ducked at 135 so he must've been somebody.

    First win, good.

    Second win, 3/10 at best.

That was a fluke win if I ever see one. Where did Raheem go from there? Morales was disgusted by Raheem's running and stopped fighting.

And? Morales was severely weight drained in that fight. When you're battling the scales like that, you're legs aren't strong. Morales was nowhere near his best in that fight and was clearly on the slide. In no way is beating a drained, off peak opponent a great win. Is James Toney's win over Holyfield great because he stopped him even though Michael Moore, Mike Tyson, and Lennox Lewis couldn't?

    Really??

I seem to remember he was offered 750k for an immediate rematch, turned it down, fought chris john insteadd for 30K and lost......

    It was good imo.
Morales had just been beaten by raheem, and didn't look like his old great self ever again.

yeah and morales was actually repeating his first fight conquest leading 4 rounds to 1 before pacquiao's investment of body shots took its toll. pacquiao looks worse in his weight-in against barrera and marquez at 130 and holyfield was stopped before. so you mean to tell me, morales was in much better shape in the diaz and the maidana fight at 140 than he was at 130 with pacquiao?

btw, do you consider corrales as a great or just an ok victory for floyd?

It was a good win. Everyone knows Morales was not a his best. What makes it good is that he came back from defeat. Me personally, I dont believe Pacquiao would have beat Morales if his legs didn't give out on him.

Oh just STFU. Both of these fighters were weight drained.

Morales couldn't even make 130 against Raheem. Please explain why Pac refused a request for a 132 lb. catchweight and inserted a large overweight clause.

Maidana and Diaz aren't elite level fighters. He was definitely past it in those fights too. Otherwise, he would never lose to those guys. I tell you what though, he sure as hell wasn't weight drained in those fights.

Corrales was undefeated, and was a top 5 pfp fighter. He was also ranked, ahead of Mayweather, as the top fighter in the division. That was a good win. Corrales was not past it and coming off a lopsided defeat against an inferior opponent.

Yes, Morales was great. And is still pretty good now. A win over him is good on a resume. :thumbsup
