Absolut right. Wlad learned from his losses. But he was not lazy before Sanders, he had the false tainer. Now he has a real good professional trainer with Emanuel Steward who helped Wlad to work on the right things.

Wlad´s footwork defence is very very good, the today Wlad would tired Sanders after 3 rounds and won by TKO.

Re-watching this video provides a bit of insight

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2M61dWO2dns&feature=related[/ame]

Around 2:50 Booth mentions a difference of opinion with Brewster's trainer (also Fraudley's traininer). According to Booth, Brewster's win couldn't be attributed to his training (in defense), it was attributable to Brewster's chin and Wlad gassing and panicking. A good trainer (for Booth) will help his fighter learn to avoid Wlad's shots.

I get the impression Booth is very close to his fighter and doesn't want Haye to take any shots. Maybe a Shields or a Roach would encourage Haye to take more risks in the ring to set up opportunities.

How can a supposed professional world class fighter not have the tools to fight more than one way. Absolutely pathetic. He could have at least thrown some straight punches to the body if he was so incapable of fighting on the inside.

Nobody mentioned brewster 1, in which he threw many body punches. I can't even remember the purrity fight but I am guessing it was body punching as well.

I personally believe he had what it took to beat Klitschko, but it's a risk thing. He wasn't prepared to go forward and get knocked out to make it happen. His windmilling punching techniques were pathetic and I was surprised he landed after a flurry of 3. No counterpunching, trying to prod him with a jab, no timing.

Wlad is very much a jab-dependent fighter. If you wanted to beat him, getting past that jab would be your first task.

I guess they were banking on just outspeeding Wlad, maybe shaking him up with some counter right hands and then jumping on him once he was wobbled. Doesnt seem like such a bad strategy to me.

Im amazed at how people are regarding this fight though. Wlad was almost as poor as Haye. Neither fighter managed to do much damage at all to the other. Wlad was slightly more successful in landing the jab. That was the difference between the two.

I watched the fight again. Haye seemed terrified of the clinch, more worried about clinching than getting hit for some reason. I think he and Booth must have been so concerned about fatigue brought on by wrestling that they overplayed the role clinching would have in the fight. I think this is why Haye was reduced to sprininging in with shots from WAY outside his range as he wanted to be out of Wlads jab range but not in close either. It was obvious from round 5 it wasn't working so where was plan B?

The rounds were closer than I first thought watching it. Wlad really didn't do that much in the fight either. It was no beatdown, to say otherwise is ridiculous, but the reason a rematch is pointless as it had an air of inevitibility about it and I see any other fights between the two going exactly the same way. Wlad landed better shots than Haye did but he was arguably more shaken in the fight than Haye was. Still not convinced by WK, not at all, all you can do is beat the guy in front of you I guess but he has way too many holes in his game to be considered anywhere near great.

This. Wlad made two mistakes in this fight with Sanders, firstly he underestimated Corrie and thought it would be a quick night with the opposite ending, and when he went down for the first time he tried to pay back the knowckdown immediately afterwards instead of being more cautious. Wlad would have won otherwise, too bad this fight is the reason why Wlad became so cautious and a safety first boxer.

Doesn't every opponent have a plan how to knoch Wlad out until they get hit themselves and not be able to close the distance? It is more difficult to beat Wlad than you think, ask his opponents except Sanders, they all say he is quicker and more elusive for his size than they thought.
