The prospect of seeing this fight materialise between the #4 (Haye) & #6 (Chambers) Ring Magazine ranked Heavyweights, who are both fast & skillful, has got me excited. I believe a lot of boxing fans would like to see this close fight happen. If Fast Eddie wins, he can chose whether to fight Vitali, or Wlad again, while if Haye won, he can accept Vitali's offer of a conditional title shot, which he would've earned from beating a ranked contender. Should Chambers take the riskier, but more lucrative fight with Haye, or should he just fight Thompson for the IBF mandatory position? Should Haye retire on a loss to Wlad, or risk losing to Chambers also, for a chance against the dangerous & dominant Vitali? Would be another Ruiz display! Knock out win for Haye! Chambers isn't the worst fighter on the planet but not in the same league as Haye.
I would like to see that fight. Chambers has real skill, but he would have to watch out for Haye's punches. I favor Haye, but wouldn't be shocked if Chambers won.
I really believe Fa This content is protected t Eddie closely outpoints David. Chambers is technically a better fighter, with better defence and I expect Haye to take a lot more risks than against Wlad or Valuev. Chambers by close UD or SD/MD
Haye is all wrong for Fast Eddie. Chambers relies on his small size and fast hands to upset his lumbering opponents, which is great, but he would be out of his depths against a fast and hard hitting guy like Haye; meanwhile, Haye is used to fighting men his size who poses mobility and speed. I don't think Haye will knock Chambers out, half way through the fight if he's losing Chambers will turtle and go into survival until the final bell. I'll give Chambers a wildcard, if he doesn't shut down mentally and he's still on his feet towards the end of the fight he might be able to catch a spent Haye. But considering past experience, I'm not sure Chambers has it in him.
Haye's on a different athletic level, but Chambers is a much more fundamentally sound fighter. That said, Haye's straight punches, is one-twos, those are going to land one hell of a lot better on a shorter man with stationary feet, even though Chambers has good reaction time and moves his head back behind his guard. He's going to take some very good shots and he's a very mediocre puncher himself. He's not a heavyweight Malignaggi, but it's just average power with lots of speed and accuracy. I have to take Haye, even though he will get countered enough if he can't put Chambers away to lose on points. Neither guy is much on output so the rounds could end up controversially scored either way. I've always wanted a Chambers/Adamek fight...which might happen...later. Edit: Actually, not only will he be more prone to splitting Eddie's guard with his one-two with a smaller man, because he moves his head back behind a guard, he's also going to be more prone to Haye's left hook and right "Hayemaker" too. Haye's feet are too fast for Eddie to be as effective with his ropeless rope-a-dope. I'm thinking more strongly for Haye now.
Chambers can outpoint haye no doubt. But I don't think he can take Haye bombs throughout the fight. Haye by stoppage.
Hey 'Ears, i thought you would favour Fast Eddie, as a fan. I do think Chambers would outpoint Adamek. :bbb
Always liked Fast Eddie but something missing since ko loss to Wlad. Looked terrible in rematch with Rossi. Haye brings too much firepower and Eddie is short, right in his wheelhouse.
Eddie's made a career out of being the 'giant slayer' and 'bully beater', he's dedicated himself to climbing to the top and when he finally met up with the guy who owns that spot he realized that Wlad is not just some schoolyard bully he can upstart, his mental edge is gone.
Fast Eddie Chambers wins VS David Haye, by close UD in 10 or 12 rounds. But Chambers MUST be in top shape. Chambers has faster handspeed, better combos, better defensive skills, better counters with better timing, better accuracy, better Boxing IQ, And bigger balls. All Haye has is more power And a good puncher's chance, so Chambers needs to be careful And keep his defense top notch every round.
