A common theme from Klitschko Haters after this past weekend's fight (and in general) is that Wlad was proven to be "robotic" and incapable of cutting the ring off, etc. Basically, that The Big Stiff European Klitschko can't move fluidly or quickly in the ring.

So, let's see what David Haye's trainer Adam Booth had to say on the subject after the fight:

    SOURCE: http://es.pn/qviGJi

To restate: Wlad was quick, he popped in-and-out of his punching range (and out of Haye's punching range) much better than Team Haye thought he could, and Wlad was aggressive against David Haye.

This past weekend, hype met reality for David Haye. Hopefully Adam Booth's words will help the same thing happen for the Klitschko Haters in their assessment of the brothers and their abilities.

I dont know which fights Booth had been studying of Wlad, but I saw his fight with Castillo, and instantly realized just how good he was at cutting the ring off, I also remember during the Peter rematch, how he specifically used his feet to move off in a circle after landing, as though not to go straight back in line, as though to keep Peter in the center of the ring.

Booth must of been looking at the wrong things.

    He knows this:

    Yep.

So he can't be too dumb.

Booth said after the fight that he told Haye to do something specific for three straight rounds and Haye didn't do it. Then Booth realized Haye simply could not do it against Wlad, for whatever reason.

As Tyson said: Everybody has a gameplan...

Both of the brothers are much, much better than people think they are. Wlad didn't stumble into winning a gold medal by accident. He has very, very sound skills and capability. So does Vitali.

Actually Wald is still just a big slow robot whose batteries are running down, with bad balance...and Haye is a three toed sloth.

Just in case some one thinks I think Wlad is slow, was at the Sanders fight and the second Byrd....so I did see him move for real.

So many haters say he is too tall, too much reach, yet most of the guys he fights are 6 foot 2-3-4. Some are 6-5 and 6-6 and McCline was 6-7. Most weigh 235-250....

Ali was very tall for a heavy back then at 6 foot 3, had 81-82 inch orangutan arms , and was totally safety first, always retreated straight back. A then Knock was he couldn't side step out of trouble.
(Liston was tall at 6 -1 1/2....real heavy at 212) Blown up cruisers all of them....lol.

I've always thought Wladimir was more skilled than people give him credit for, problem is, the things he does are very subtle.

I always felt that Chambers and Byrd were more technically skilled than Haye, and that for them not to be able to close the gap on Wladimir, doesn't say a lot for Haye's ability to close the distance down.

    Excellent post, thanks!

I'm sure both of those fights were fun to see in person. Good action in both of them. :good

Because many Klitschko bouts aren't competitive, people tend to underrate their opposition or just see the flaws in the Klitschkos. It's a whole different thing when you have to actually step in the ring with them. That's what Haye found out.

    Yep. :thumbsup

Great points about Chambers and Byrd, too. Chris Byrd has a huge amount of skill. For him to get eaten up by Wlad as he did shows just how good Wlad (and Vitali) truly are.

I'm even more certain now that Haye should dump Booth if he wants to continue his career because if Booth misses such a COMPLETELY OBVIOUS FACT about Wlad then he shouldn't be training Elite fighters.

I appreciate that Wladimir is willing to stalk and press his opponents. It belies his real fighting heart. He has to extend himself slightly to manage it. Catch is all he has to do is put up those Redwood tree arms of his and he can deflect virtually any incoming punch whilst leaning his gargantuan frame distances of feet out of any real danger within a millisecond. He is fast, but he doesn't have to exert himself by a fraction the same levels his opponents have to to score punches. Haye for example had to run long distance jump/hurdle/levitate to get into range.

He definitely did that against Haye well.

The true master at this is Vitali. Haye would have an incredibly difficult time landing on Vitali, as Peter and many others had.

Wlad got mad in the 12th round after he got hit. Then he really pressed Haye.
