DeGale will face Piotr Wilczewski for the European title in September.

 Surely the winner of Groves v Degale is more entitled to a Euro shot. I know Groves talked about it after the fight.

Where did you hear this, AT?

Good fight if it's true. I think a winnable fight for JDG.

DeGale needs a big win to get over his last loss. I understand its a voluntary defence so that why he has got it. Groves deserves it though.

Its a great comeback fight for Degale, but I thought EBU rules state that fighters coming off a loss cannot fight for the title? That definitely applied to Magee, McCloskey, Munroe etc. Has Frank bypassed this somehow?

Still good for degale though as it blocks Georgie getting his hands on it without the rematch (you can see Franks mind working strategically here!). It forces Groves into the rematch or he has to jump past Euro level which he is not ready for

Although Groves beating Degale again in a rematch by close decision would be so funny, I think Frank would explode!

I'm sure the rules don't apply when you slip 10 grand into the pocket of the EBU :good

Groves is ranked 3rd and DeGale ranked 4th so unless Groves in unavailable the shot could go to DeGale.
