Both Holyfield and Holmes have fought far longer than Ali. Ali's trouble has come from geting hit hard in the past. provening that Ali was not as fast as he's made out to be....
Klitschko has faced someone as fast as Ali? Name one? I've come to expect this from you "Bubby". In another thread you made the claim that Haye was faster than prime Tyson. Happy viewing Bubby the delusional (or ignorant). [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbLfXGVGz-4[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51090bGcoR8[/ame]
People talk very big about the past only because its safe. "Big bad" Wladimir can't hurt their hero of the past. So they can be as fast or as powerful as they want them to be.:good
Bubby, it's all on video tape. It's objective. Observe for yourself. Even Bubby should be able to see what's going on.
I've watched every Ali fight that was filmed I believe. Ive seen Ali get rocked by club fighters, Ive seen fighters beat Ali to the punch. Ive seen Ali get gift decision in many fights. So you can't tell me much about Ali.....
I can see where you coming with Foreman9even though I would not agree but Fraizer never proved his chin to me. Yes he can endure punishment but that doesn't mean he can take a punch from Wlad and still keep coming.
But he was at much lower weight. Fighters at lower weight tend to take more punches because of pace and speed.
Wlad could definitely hurt Frazier, but I feel like Frazier could weave his way inside and do damage without getting tied up. It'd be a tough one, but the way Wald was leaping back as soon as Haye attacked....I feel like Frazier could get under those straight punches and bring the hook. He for damn sure wouldn't just throw a big bomb and let Wlad run away
Okay -- I'm gonna say a couple things that might sound like nuthugging and/or euphoric recall, but damn it, I literally grew up watching Ali's career unfold. Sometimes it seems like many younger fans do not have a very solid grasp on how good the heavyweight division was during that era. Ali was the fastest heavyweight who ever lived. A middleweight with Ali's quickness of hand and foot would be considered above average. The man moved around the ring like a leopard. Ali's punch variety and punch selection was unsurpassed. Furthermore, any combination he could throw while moving forward he could also throw while moving left, right, or backward, and with nearly equal authority. When we talk about the durability of the old time 15 round heavyweights we always talk about George Chuvalo. It's my opinion that in that area Ali was not far behind George. He was one of the toughest boxers who ever lived. Ali's ring IQ started to take its toll about 2-3 months before the fight started! Ali played world class chess while nearly everyone else played barber shop checkers. He was one of the smartest athletes who ever graced a boxing ring. This fight would be about as competitive as Hopkins/Pavlik. It would consist of 15 rounds of Wlad lumbering around the ring looking lost with "The Greatest" kicking his ass.
When you do comparisons like this, wait until both are retired. Wlads been kod 3 times IN HIS PRIME. Ali never came close. Second stop comparing the Ali who came back after the layoff, and use the Ali who beat Liston. Ali was too fast for Wlad and would slice him up. Wlad does not compare to Ali, and he'll never come close to Ali's stature. Ali is legend. You have #3. Great, #2. ATG, #1. Legend. Ali is a legend.
I remember Frazier's trainer saying the 6'3" 224ib Foreman was just too big and strong for Frazier. But now people say Joe would walk through 6'6" 245lb Wladimir Klitschko.:-(...Stupid!
