To who? The general public non boxing enthusiest definitely over rate Tyson, they still think Tyson is the heavyweight champ for **** sakes lol. But typically I find the good folks at ESB and REAL boxing fans got him pegged properly for sure. We all know how great H2H he is, and we all know he would be ranked much higher ATG wise had he avoided legal woes and ****

Yes he is. As is every good fighter of past 100 years.

Amazingly underrated, people let their personal opinions of him interfere in how they percieve him as a fighter. He was a fantastic fighter.

Totally underrated on here. People been too cute about how he ain't all that when all you need is to look at his fights and see with your own eyes.

I have not seen a HW that kills his opponents the way Tyson does it and doubt I ever will again.

Unless you're Gene Tunney, SS, most greats call it quites after KO's or one-sided losses.

Sad, but they go to the well once too often. They're broke 'n have no choice.

SRR was a prime example. When he lost to nobodies in the twilight of his career, he was barely a shell of the great fighter he'd been.

    Overrated? Please don't go there...

I don't care if all he ever fought were Tomato Cans. The guy KO'ed people in BRUTAL fashion. Someone 95% of fighters only dream of doing.

For a time, Tyson was THE MOST DANGEROUS MAN ON THE PLANET.

So how the hell can you say he was overrated?

    :think

Maybe after the killer instict disappeared. Losing Cus was the beginning if the end of Tyson's dominance.

    :bbb

Douglas was not sprawled. He was waiting on a knee listening carefully to the ref's count and getting up before 10. He could have gotten up earlier if the ref had counted differently. Watch the tape.

By the way, the same is true of Gene Tunney and the "long count". Tunney could have gotten up sooner but was listening to the ref's count. Why shouldn't a fighter be able to rely on the referee's count. It would not have been fair to penalize Douglass for the ref's mistake, if there was one.
