What if Vitali won a World K1 Championship?

    wow. I didnt know bowling was a combat sport, nor did i know Valuev competed in it.

    anyways, Vitali HAS fought in the kickboxing world...he HAS won world championships...obviously 2 different sports...2 different sports that at one time or another, Vitali was the best in the world in...the question is simple, if he switches over (like he did to boxing) and wins a championship, does it affect his legacy as a fighter?

    Wouldn´t be a good idea because he nearly ruined his boxing career with his Kickbox ambitions. Because of an injury in Kickboxing (Knee I think) he got a medical treatment that caused him to be thrown out of olympia. It also was a reason for the problems with his spine (beacuse of this he had to cancle the Rahman fight numerous times)

    so what, Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders careers are irrelevant because they excelled at two different sports? Actually, they are considered 2 of the finest athletes ever to compete.


    Do people on here just troll threads looking for arguments?

    Thank-you! I only asked this as I can't think of anyone other than Adamek left for him to fight. But as another poster eluded to, the possibility of this is nil, but would definitely look good for our sport if he could have held both at the same time

    Tyson bit off ears, Margo loaded his gloves, both still fought big fights afterwards. Hari kicked a downed opponent twice. As long as Hari draws, he's going to get paid to fight.

    At least they know that they have not much chance in boxing, Botha tried to compete in K1 he thought its easy, at the end after his last fight there he said that he underestimated these guys and that he has a much more respect for them now.
    Yeah insult me for telling you the truth, it doesn't change the fact that you are either too young or too ignorant to understand that Vitali has almost no chance to become a K1 champ.

    I agree. that fight would be huge. If Toney and Mercer could draw up interest going to mma, a mean returning champ to fight the mean crazy former champ would be crazy. Would be bigger than Pac/Mayweather only because of the crossover appeal.

    btw, i only said vitali because of his background. I think Wlad is a much better boxer, but he simply has never fought in that sport.

    i admit, i don't know much about the history of the sport, which is why i said fighters using more than 2 weapons. would the thread have been better if i had said "kickboxing championship"? i honestly thought vitali had competed in K1 earlier in his career, hence my question. i don't follow those sports. ill watch ufc as a curiosity and as a matter of having to. ufc apparently is more popular in ontario canada than anywhere else in the world. hell, ufc is in the sports sections most days. the wlad fight got a 1/16 of a page on the back page with the standings in the sunday paper

    wow. ive seen the first one before. those spinning kicks are nuts. really flashy and high risk. if they miss or mis time, it could be lights out. do they normally throw those once their opponent has already been hurt?

    To have a chance at elite level in combat sports, fighters have to be active in it throughout their careers. You can't part time it.

    They throw those kicks frequently, usually they are blocked or ducked.
