Chagaev Fighting Povetkin For The Regular WBA Belt

thanks man but what utter wba bull****. is there any org left that doesn't splinter belts (diamond belts, super belts, etc)

 

I think this is the best thing for Povetkin at this moment. I think Chagaev is not as he used to be 3 years ago

Good fight, even if Povetkin doesn't deserve a shot at a title for ducking Wlad like he did. lol WBA regular belt. Pathetic. The Ring and Lineal titles are the only credible ones left. Alphabet belts are all paper titles now anyone can pick up. Personally I don't recognise any them anymore as major titles. If only boxing publications and sites would follow suit, the sooner we'd get back to having one champ.

I like your logic man, but in this particular case, I think AP picking up that paper title makes it seem like he's finally ready to take his shot against Wlad, which is a fight we've been waiting for for a couple of years now. Povetkin's the last top contender out there who hasn't gotten his crack against Wlad or Vitali yet, it's about time that fight went down.

 

its a good gauge fight I suppose. neither guy is beating a klitschko, but it should be a good fight.

Forget the belt, it's a good fight. I fear if Povetkin wins, he'll fight in his own little league a la Valuev or Haye and avoid Wlad to score several smaller paydays first. Better that than Chagaev winning and retiring, though...

 

Povetkin should take this, and then he ought to dump the title and fight Wlad.

 

In this division the belts have been meaningless for a while now. The winner of this will just be a strap holder like vitali.

Oh ****, imagine if vitali unifies with povetkin (no doubt he's winning this) we'd have 2 super wba champions and then another regular champ would come along meaning we'd have 3 wba champs lol.

And if he fights Wlad, will Wlad become "Regular" and "Super Champion", 2x "Super Champion" or "Super Duper Champion"???? :huh:blood
