For the life of me I cannot see why he won't face Vitali. That is a far more winnable fight from my perspective.
Haye is running scared of Vitali. He should forget Wlad, the nail in the coffin was Saturday, you had your golden opportunity to become unified champ and failed horribly.
He doesnt deserve a re-match, I bought all the Haye hype and actually thought he was going to stop Wladimar. He should just retire, he's not a natural heavyweight, unifying the cruiserweight division and moving up to heavyweight wining a belt and to get to a fight with Wladimar to nearly unify the heavyweight division aswell is quite an achievment.
That excuse really needs to stop being said. Haye for his fight with Wlad weighed around the same as George Foreman against Ali, he was the same height as well. Just to clarify here is a quote from Haye. And let that be the end of it.
A little bit different though. Unless you can show me a time where Foreman or Ali were outweighed by 2 stone and gave up 3 or 4 inches in height? If you don't think size played a big factor in Haye losing to Klitschko then you may as well give up on boxing mate. That's not to say it's an excuse, it's the heavyweight division and Haye knew what he was getting into but it's clearly a massive part in why Klitschko was able to dominate.
It's a blatant excuse if we're honest. I never heard Tyson complaining about this, in fact pre Lewis he always said he prefered fighting the taller fighter. Besides it didn't seem to bother Haye when he was fighting bigger men than Wlad like Audley and Valuev.
No doubting that Wlad is way better than Audley and Valuev but excuse or not, the reason he was able to keep Haye at a distance is purely down to height and his effectiveness at using that height. Wlad deserves credit for being able to do that certainly but let's not pretend it was a perfectly fair fight size-wise.
All this pissy pant talk of retirement is bollocks...he lost a fight for **** sakes not an arm. The size thing just doesn't really hold water...Max Baer knocked Primo Carnera down so many times that journalists at ringside actually lost count....that fight spawned the greatest in-ring quote of all time in my opinion..."Last one ups a sissy" If Hayes footwork had been good enough, or his master plan had been good enough he would have been able to get on the inside of Wlads jab and punish him...neither was good enough on the night. On the night the best man won....next time around with a different approach it may or may not be different.....I think that we'll find out.
I'm a Haye fan but right now he's got no legacy at HW. There's plenty of fights left for him, Adamek, Chagaev, Povetkin. Cleaning up the division below the Klits would be the best way to earn a rematch, or a fight with Vitali if he's still knocking about.
It wouldnt be da money spinner the first fight was. Haye could forevor be out of the money spinner fights after last night thats usless chisora or another heavy springs a suprise
