OK, tonight's show on BBC London 94.9 will be a bit edgy. It's post-Haye and Hatton's gone for good. I've got Adam Booth. I've got Ricky Hatton. I've got Enzo Maccarinelli. I've got Ron Boddy. I've got Dominic Negus. I WILL mention the King Blagger of Hamburg but I've just been told about two geezers from Leicester who went to the fight in full DJs with bow-ties and blagged everything and even slept in one of the stadium hospitality boxes! I need your Haye thoughts and your best Hatton memory. Email: This content is protected Adios.
Sounds like another top show and with no Ringside or 5Live hour tonight.. it's all over to you Buncey My personal favourite Hatton memory is when I met him a few months before the Pacquiao fight. He was doing one of his promotions in Bristol and was there with Floyd Sr. Looked like they were genuinely getting on really well at the time and it was an odd but funny combo. Just clashed styles too much in the end I guess. One of my favourite Hatton fights was his win over Malignaggi. Funny cuz Paulie was the one doing all the holding this time! But the Tszyu and Thaxton fights were brutal. Also Steve can you ask Adam Booth if he's got any plans to take on many other boxers like he's done with Groves or whether he just wants to keep it quite a close team and only train 3 or 4 at a time?
Hey Buncey, great show, gives me something to look forward to on a long night shift! My favourite Hatton moment is probably the same as most others, but you dont often see someones boxing career zoom off like Hattons did after the Tszyu Fight! Not to mention his amazing fan base too! Cheers Buncey, would love to get a mention on the show! Deano, Notts.
Good line up Buncey. Following on my favourite Hatton moment is the footage of the British fans at the Hatton/Mayweather weigh in, quality support for a true great. Do you think the BBC will now get more boxing on the radio following the record breaking figures of people who listened to the fight online?
Steve, don't know if you know but George Kimball has passed away. I remember you had him on the show before to talk about his Four Kings book :good
"David Haye's world title fight gained a record online audience for BBC Radio 5 Live last Saturday, racking up more than a quarter of million requests for the station's commentary" http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/broadca...d-haye-fight-scores-5-live-online-record.html
cheers steve..... just ricky being himself as my highlight. say what you want about the lad but we were all there with ricky along for the ride he took us all on, and im looking forward to the next ricky hatton type fighter that takes us all on a ride like that....... great stuff hitman, all the best kid.
Buncey can you ask Hatton why i seen him in Puerto Banus getting wrecked in the September before the Mayweather fight? I know training camps are only 6-8 weeks but come on biggest fight of your career out getting hammered!
George is gone. He was on here and Setanta several times. I will prepare something. Loving the Ricky moments. Adam Booth is brutally honest, great stuff. Adios.
